It's not the scoring average that is concerning...his efficiency has been terrible! If he scores 21 pts. on 15 shots with 10rebs. and 7-8 assists...that's great!

@@asid448 A small forward has to be the power forward to defense and protect the rebound, which will consume his strength and energy. Yet JT grabs the most rebounds of the team and gave 3 blocks to protect the rim. His shot percentage is not good indeed in this year's playoffs, but he has the most rebounds and assists in total of the Celtics this year. That's his value, to impact the game in many ways, not being a ball hog just for stats.

But if JB or White have an off-game...I don't wanna see an innefective 6-22 fg. 20 pt. game from the Superstar of this team. He is gonna have to take over a few games in these playoffs...and not shit the bed when the supporting cast is having a bad game.

Wow amazing performance by Boston Celtics and the whole team that has sacrificed so much for their team and their teammates they totally deserved this win by the way they played this game and this game one . If they keep playing like they played this series and elevating their game to adjust to their opponents they will definitely win the championship this year. And it definitely starts with winning the second round of this series Amazing and good job by the whole Celtics on the defense end and the offense end of the floor.This is what the Celtics is supposed to do if they want to keep advancing to the third and thr fourth and fifth round and when the NBA championship including beating who is awaiting them in the later rounds. This was a great night for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White who lead the Celtics this game.

You could play that game with anyone when choosing to ignore the bigger picture. You say it's not just about scoring, yet that's the only thing anyone can point to when attempting to dismiss Tatum. Personally, it makes no difference to me whether Jayson Tatum is a top 10 player, or top 15 player, I think going any lower than that would be silly but regardless.. if it's relevant to you whether JT is #7, #12, or #17 so be it but when viewed in totality he is the best player on the winningest team in the league. That's more important to me, and I'm sure it's more important to him than whether he is slightly above or slightly below an arbitrary top 10 list. Whether you think he's top 10 or not, every team in the league guards him like he is, and that's why the Celtics are so hard to beat. There's a reason why "superteams" work in Boston and are generally unsuccessful elsewhere, individual sacrifice for the betterment of the team is so much easier said than done. You could put a lot of these other so-called top 10 guys in JT's position, and the Celtics wouldn't work nearly as well because so many of them can only succeed in a heliocentric offense. While JT should be credited for his elite production despite being on the floor with 4 other guys who can pop off for 20-30 on any given night, the narrative is instead flipped in an attempt to discredit him at every turn.
