He was ahead of his time. Reggie was the first player I can remember that could of been a NFL Wide Receiver if he didn’t play RB. I think Reggie Bush has helped Kamara and McCaffrey’s career he was the first weapon that had plays that were designed to get him in open field then lineup as a traditional RB take a handoff and next play lineup in the slot run a route or run a reverse sweep(no jet sweeps in the NFL during his career)Bush would of benefited if they could had player in motion while hiking the ball allowing for jet sweeps or jet sweep bootleg helping to open the field up not allowing defenses to over load between the Tackles.

Underutilized in New Orleans. They tried to use him as a gadget player too much. Should’ve let him be a pure RB like Miami and Detroit. He could’ve had 1,000 yards rushing seasons in N.O.

He split carries 50/50 his first couple years with Deuce, but it took him awhile to realize he wasn't faster than everyone on the field like at USC. Once he figured that out he began to settle for the 2 or 3 yard gains instead of losing yardage trying to do too much. Payton has never been a 1 back coach so Reggie's rushing stats suffered but his all purpose yardage and receptions were always top of the league. He could score from anywhere on the field and demanded the defense's attention. Saints HOF for sure.

I liked this guy a lot. I remember using him a lot in my Madden 09 games in which he made like 2,000 yds rushing with like 20 TD’s. A few catches with a few TD catches also. He was a lot of fun I mainly used him to break all running back records. Which he did in his final NFL career. Realistically he broke a few records and is probably not going into the hall of fame. But we will see. However he does have a Super Bowl ring which is good. So, he had a good career.

If not drafted by NO, you could be looking at a Hall of Famer. Saints don't care at all about their running offense. It's just a gimmick to throw in here or there for them and they play whoever it is that can work in that weird rushing offense. Bush put up (almost) three straight 1000 yard seasons in his late 20s after some nagging injuries with other teams (he was 14 yards short one season). He averaged 4.3 YPC in his career, which is a really good mark (the all-time rushing leader Emmitt was 4.2). Bush's best years were sadly wasted on NO. They used him initially as a part-time runner and a full-time receiving back and he put up tremendous numbers as a pass catcher his rookie year. When they saw the attention he was given, they simply started using him as a decoy to let Brees look downfield. I'll never forget that entire weird saga. That's how talented he was. Just infuriating to watch and then seeing the guy put up much better numbers in a few years on other teams... It is what it is. Had about 10,000 all-purpose yards in his career. He was a good RB, but could have been all-time great. We just don't know because of the team he was drafted by. They viewed him as a pawn on a chess board instead of a more useful piece to utilize up to his fullest potential.

If Reggie would've went to any other team but the Saints he would've had a more fulfilling career. Sean didn't see him as an every down back. He has grown as a coach in the sense that he does give Kamara more touches. But Reggie to me is easily a better player for all the skills he had as a player.

Reggie Bush was a great runner of the football probably one of the greatest ever... But he was not a what you would call a true Running Back. That’s why a team would always need one solid traditional running back to complement him. Reggie never ran with his shoulders first or parallel to the ground like most backs. He would have to get the ball with an open stride and room to run. He was not able to make his own holes or wear a Defense Down like a traditional running back. But he was great at being an overall runner of the football, be it by pass, return or sweep/reverse. 👍🏾

He was athletic but there have been so many backs come through the NFL with the same amount of athleticism and better. So how could he have been the best ever? Go watch Jamal Charles highlights or people like Chris Johnson... Adrian Peterson. That was just some of the recent. The early 2000s had hella.backs too that you don't know about apparently. Also the 90s.

You must didn't read any of the comments nor have done no research as to why his career was not as electric as college. Let me see you go work for a company that does know how to use your talents - will you perform to the best of your ability- HELL NO. A little perspective must be used when talking about Bush and his career. If he would be playing now he would be the best rb in the league. He did "CHANGE THE LEAGUE". He was the best all-purpose back in an era dominated by ground and pound rushers. He would be appreciated in todays game because teams are now looking for versatility. All-Pro -/ HOF talent (i.e. punt return vs. Cardinals 2009 NFC championship - name me one running back today that can make moves like that....Im waiting...) but, injuries, coaching, and time era held him back. He was the first of his kind and ahead of his time. PERIOD.
