In this video we try to get my dads 66 Chevy Bel Air running and driving after it has been parked for 17 years because I wrecked it a month after getting my drivers license. this car has a 250 inline 6 and a 3 speed on the column. Lots of great memories in this car for me, I'm really excited about getting to work on it again. Hope you guys like it.

High sleeper dude and family, I have to say the real treasure in this video is you spending time with your dad getting the old gal up and running again what a sweet car a 66 2-door wow. I can remember when I was about 14 years old driving one of the first Mazda pickup trucks with my dad on the passenger side we were at the horse ranch and he said I'm just too tired to drive home go ahead son nobody will bother you you're a big kid and you really look old enough to be driving. He would only do this if he was on the passenger side and I think it was his way of giving me some time behind the wheel an actual road conditions with other drivers. But he wouldn't tell me that he would just say he was tired hell I don't know maybe he was he always worked hard and he was quite old by the time I was 14 he was 74 and still kicking it he lived till he was 98 years Young and I wished he would have made a hundred can you believe the things that he had seen in his lifetime. I am so glad that you still have your father around I still see my father in my dreams every once in awhile and him shaking his finger at me correcting me when I was wrong. If I would have listened to all the stuff that my dad tried to teach me I probably wouldn't went down the road that I did although I wouldn't change a thing! Many blessings to you and your entire family as always your friend Joe

Most of us boys have memories of our dads letting us do a little driving. Once at the top of the road, my dad would let me sit on his lap and drive his 64 Chrysler New Yorker. I was quite young but still remember like it was yesterday. Ralphy’s lucky you got a big yard he can drive in!

Thanks! Josh and family of a whole bunch., to date, as I watch ever one of these... a huge thank you. That is exactly the car I could buy for my wife, just before they shipped me to Vietnam. While I was gone, my brother in law put a 283 in the car for her so she could go faster longer. I was in washington state (my wife) and of course uncle sam sent me on a great great trip across the world. Her brother who put that bigger engine in the car lived in Lincoln Kansas. I don't think I spelled that town name right but sounded like a president name cept different. He made it into a tail dragger and I just wanted it to stay safe... for a girl, not so much as she would spin out and that car would rip on its undersides. After three years of me gone... she done as much damage as one could expect... we were both just twenty when I got home to her and a baby boy... accidents happen (she told me while I was over there) and I just wanted her safe.. I never messed around an guys laughed at me for not "getting any"... One fellow was so damn brave and also a corporal so he went so far as to do something much nastier... that little accident to his face and my fist sent him home with a dishonorable discharge. I lost my only stripe but I didn't really care... my Sergeant that we all hung with .... said just hang a bit.. sure enough he got me some fancy crap to hang on my "blouse" (army name for a shirt) and a week later a medal of accommodation which got me a significant pay grade raise... they don't pay much for the guys who are just target practice material. This is getting too far from the car... I got home to a car that had canvas water bags hanging off of the grill that was banged up an thought about just send it to the crusher but I headed home to washington to my house figuring no one would be there... and thats where the wife, a year old boy, and her car was. It didn't take long for me to fall in love with that boy and he took to me as well, he would go as fast as his little knees would take him to me. I bought me a new mercury cyclone with the 390 and four speed, .... you know, all the good stuff. I finally flipped a quarter heads it goes to the crusher or tails I build it back.... I flipped that quarter three times an it kept coming up tails so I built it back to a new six cylinder with three on the tree an this time a overdrive. Ever piece under it was fixed or replaced.... I got the body redone myself... whistle straight. new interior... baby blue outside an the top was white with a all white leather interior including headliner that was diamond tuck. After that car was as close to new looking... even the glass was a light blue tint, I did etch the glass an put a eagle in the back window. (I was a fair artist) I got tired of coming home from work to a cold meal if anything was there and she would be gone... she thought I was a freak... just six foot tall, two forty, a size thirty two waistline so I wasn't fat, just big... I had to wear those wife beater tees as the back kept ripping out. I agreed to her demands, but asked for a time each year with my boy. Thats when she had to show me my sons birth certificate... his last name was her maiden name on it so the judge said no. I never seen nor heard from them till my son came to see me when he was nineteen. He was loyal to his mom... who he showed me a picture of... seems like her fork got the best of her. That and her fourth husband was a drunk. My biggest surprise was he was driving that old car! I do have a couple more stories on it but its a short comment section... you got cars to build an don't need me taking up your time

I love seeing the "whole family" evolved. It always seemed my dad had more time and patience with my friends than he had with me. It was like I was suppose to already know what to do. We had an OK relationship which after I was older improved greatly. I promised I wouldn't make that mistake with my children and I didn't. The summer my son turned 15 and we took on the project to rebuild a car for him took a great relationship and turned it into an outstanding relationship. Thank you for your videos. OH, I am more of a GM & Chrysler fan. I would love to see you work on some of the older GM say something 50 to 57 - a Buick or Olds would be wonderful.

Nice to see y’all Josh & family. Had a couple of Crown Vics Police Interceptors. Unforgettable memories of our ‘66 Impala in Kansas in the 1960s & 1970s.

Over at "Isaac it'll be fine" , he has a 68 Biscayne he took to power tour. Valve stem seals should clear that smoke right up. My friend had a white with green top 4 door 66 Biscayne also when we were teens. It was an automatic and didnt like it very much when i tried to put it into neutral and it went into reverse going 45 ! lol Just let out a groan until i popped it back into drive.

Like 54 years ago I had a car magazine where they tested out 'the young family man's hot rod'. It was a 1968 Biscayne 2dr sedan, radio, heater, 427 4 speed, positraction, heavy duty suspension. Stickered for $2998.

Great Video. reminds me back in the day my grandmother had a new 66 maroon Impala 327 4-barrel carb. that she just crawled to the store and church with. So, I'd be asked to drive it and blow it out. Was fun seeing all that black carbon coming out the tailpipe. Her new 61 Impala got totaled brand new when she put the petal to the metal by mistake for the brake and I went thru the windshield at age 8. She should have had this engine. Ha. (Our family had Chevy garage from 1946 to 1986) anyway.....

I took my driving test in the '65 4 door cousin of this car (Danube Blue, really dark). Also wrecked that one. You may be giving just enough "boost" for the fuel pump by having the boat tank above the pump and near the carb level. I'd love to see the '63 Chevy II get back together - I had a 4 dr '64 when I started college. That miniscule 6 cyl, 1bbl, 3-on-the-tree power nothing was fun. Thanks for the content.

As usual, another awesome video! This video hits home for me. My first car was a 66 Chevy Impala with swapped 327 Vette motor automatic two-speed powerglide. Had a lot of fun in that old car. Back in the late 70s into the early 80s she was all jacked up on air shocks and 50s on the rear 60s on the front aluminum slots. She was close to the blue on your dad's car, white vinyl top an white interior. Always enjoy your videos! Keep up the great work, I always keeps me coming back! Love the channel Sleeperdude! I even watch your other channel Sleeperdude2! Keep on Motoring brother!!!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
