This weeks metal cover by Jay Taylor is the easily recognized Losing My Religion by R.E.M.
Losing My Religion was released by R.E.M in 1991 and part of their album 'Out of Time'. This was a song that I have always liked and is easily my favorite R.E.M song, so deciding to do a metal cover version of this classic track was a relatively easy one to make!

My friend, you rock! I had a friend come over today who is fairly proficient at 80s bands and their music but he sucks with anything from the 1990s and later. I had your cover of this song on in the background, and he liked your sound. He asked me who it was, and I told him it was a cover by a famous modern band, and that he should guess the band. His first guess was Linkin Park. His second guess was Disturbed. His third guess was Red Hot Chili Peppers. That's when I fell over laughing. I said it was a cover by the Jay Taylor Band. He said cool, he would have to buy your album.

It’s hands down one of the most powerful things the world can offer. I’m pleased to hear that music has helped you in difficult times. I know that it has done the same for me on multiple occasions.
