Kumiko Starter Kit - bit.ly/asanoha-kit
The combination of epoxy and kumiko is something that I’ve never seen before and I knew I needed to try it out. This is my first try at it and I’m blown away with how it turned out. You’ll be seeing more projects like this from me in the future.

I am extremely tempted; I am deciding if it’s worth making all of the jigs myself. It adds to the journey into another branch. Its amazing how your patience increases as you get older. What kind of hardwood do you recommend using. basswood is a new one to me. I will look forward to watching many of your other videos. All the very best, Yours Ricky

I'd recommend hard maple for the jigs. That's what I use and it seems to take abuse pretty well. It can be tough to work with but it's worth it. For the actual kumiko, basswood is great but you can also use cedar. Anything on the softer side should work well as long as your tools are sharp

The lamp is amazing! I really liked how you combined warm and cold colors! It struck me that for the joints you make one cut with the circular saw. Would you share what saw disk you use? Thank you in advance!
@JTWoodworks
@JTWoodworks 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The joints can be cut on the table saw with one cut if you use 1/8" material and a full kerf blade. I use the Forrest Woodworker II blade. I believe it's 40 tooth combo blade
