This is a story I created to help me memorize the Juan Tamariz stack. It really only took me a solid day of studying the stack to learn it. I'm now working on memorizing stack position, and trying to follow some of Juan's examples in his book "Mnemonica," which, although on an advanced level, I highly recommend.
I also downloaded an application on my phone called MemDeck Pro that helps you memorize the Tamariz (Mnemonica) Stack as well as Si Stebbins, Aronson, and other advanced systems. You can also create your own stack with the application.

I memorized the stack just by writing the numbers on the back of the cards and doing 13 at a time. In about 2 hours I had it down. Amazing how I can do this but I still dropped out of college XD

Thank you! I purchased a Dani DaOrtiz trick that I really wanted to learn, but didn't realize he was using a stacked deck. He did a false shuffle at the beginning of the trick, and stupid me thought he was just using a normal deck. Now to get to memorizing! This video should help!

i used the books method with a song. i use the melody from THE Gambler by Kenny Rogers One is the 4 of clubs , 2 is the 2 of hearts, 3 the 7 of diamonds , 4 the 3 of clubs , 5 the 4 of hearts, 6 the 6 of diamonds, 7 ace of spades and the 8 the 5 of hearts so you got to know when to hold them know when to fold them know when to walk away know when to run....

Si Stebbins is much easier to memorize and recall position if you get his original publication. You can download a facsimile version from amazon to Kindle or other reader for like $1-$2. Worth it! Plus he gave 5 tricks to go along with his stack. You've likely already used them by now, but it's still cool to have something that came from Stebbins own mind, assuming it did of course. The Kindle version also comes with what looks like an image of the orginal cover on the book. The pages have been condensed, what was once maybe an 80 page book is now about 6-8 pages, but it's still all there and makes more sense instead of having a bunch of pages of very few words. There are also a few illustrations, black and white. For the price, I highly recommend it.

Si stebbins ?? The beauty of the Mnemonica stack is that you can show the faces of the cards whilst spread out on a table and no-one will see a pattern because there isn't one Si stebbins uses a loop pattern, so show that stack face up on a table and people will almost instantly spot it within a few seconds so your reply makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and is irrelevant

Thanks for the story - it really helped me to believe that it actually is easy. Though I just used story for myself for the first 16 or so cards, but anyway it inspired to create my own :) It took me just a couple hours to memorize the deck!

I like the stack, and I like the use of a mnemonic device. But, for me, that's just way too much creative thinking, that I just do not possess. I think I'll just use mathematics, using addition and subtraction. Math has never failed me yet. But, thanks, for showing me this method.

What ever works for you, definitely go that route. Sometimes, even incorporating several different mechanisms can help with mnemonics, but the main focus is the end goal of memorization. Thanks for the comment. :)

I'm not trying to dissuade you - I just want to point out that using any memory aid is just that, an aid to memorizing. Once they are memorized it can be hard to forget if you actually use the thing you memorized. Once you do it enough, the aid (the story in this example) can even be forgotten and you will still know the order of the cards because they are committed to memory. Anyways, if you have something that works then that's always great!

To be honest I just sat down and memorised it in an evening fully concentrated. It is also important to memorise the positions of each card. Ie the number they are at. So you always know how far away cards are in relation to each other. What an astonishing book this is. And some of the best of the best magic tricks attainable with a deck of cards

I'm finding your story an incredibly helpful tool. You mumbling the word after three of diamonds bothers my brain. It doesn't effect anything, but I feel like I'm missing part of the story, lol. Can someone PLEASE tell me what word he's mumbling? "The queen of hearts showed up, and between three diamond gfhggfhfgh, and the queen of clubs..."

This is all very well, but there is NO mnemonic for remembering the number. You'd be better off learning a proper memory system to learn the stack. Also, how does this give you the number of the card? It doesn't. If you need to know instantly, the position of the card (as in ACAAN), this method wont cut it!

Cracked me up when I looked for mnemonica stack video because I'm holding that exact deck in my hand. Nice video Jason. Others mentioned this wont help know exactly what number the card is on, but it's a good starting point to have a story that allows you to quickly count down to the card you want. I'm sure knowing mnemonica thoroughly will require several "memory stories" This is an awesome one to begin with. Many thanks.

One way you can incorporate the number of the cards is to start out remembering every 10th card in the deck, then just play the story in your head to get to the proper indexed number. After that memorize every 5th card... Soon, they'll all come to you. Thanks too for the kind words. Good luck.

if ice cold accan is expensive for, you, you dont have to use it, I'll give you a fair method for accan, learn the park control from 52 kards channel, top palm, let them shuffle the card, put card back in the deck, let them name a no, and second deal,

showing a way how two remember the stack is far away from exposing secrets. a layman probably would not find such a video and even a magician needs to know how to perform with the stack. oh and btw: there are plenty of sources to learn mnemonica free, not even here on youtube.
