I loved Chicago back in 60’s /70’s & then I kind of forgot about them. Now listening to them again, I’m blown away by the talent of all band members - 3 awesome singers, 2 kick ass guitar players, Danny Seraphine on the drums, the horn section- they were way before their time. Yes Terry didn’t seem to be quite himself before he died & he didn’t seem like he had the drive that he did in earlier years but he was still a monster on the guitar- his fingers moving so fast it was a blur. It really bugs me how people insist on commenting on his weight- has nothing to do with his talent. I think we need to give a collective thanks to bands like Chicago - that was real music. Not the CRAP that’s out there these days (how can yu tell I’m old!!!).

@@lamarravery4094 as I understand it, the band didn't give Cetera any compliments are recognition for his talents; as was heaped on Terry, where btw, they gladly traded in their prized democracy and no lead rule for Terry to take center stage frontman and leader. Peter, after all he could sing the shits out of anything. He had charisma. He could bang out gutsy, jammin bass. Yet was treated a third rate. Maybe he found confidence with Foster who gave him some pointers and helped him grow. Shame on Chi., his brothers for being cold and ignorant, bad etiquette to this day decades later. I wish they would come out and be man enough to admit they never 'took' to Peter, never liked him. The only one who was a great friend to Pete was Terry. Chi. screwed over Pete. I a glad he went. It would have been nicer to keep hearing that iconic voice w/ Chicago but they showed they didn't want him and kicked him out after breaking a promise. Screw them.

@@karol7716 I've always liked Chicago. Just in like the past week, I was looking around at Chicago videos to see how good Terry Kath was. He was phenomenal to say the least! BUT I never knew that Peter was the bass player for Chicago. I thought he was just a singer with them, and only for a short time (WRONG). So when I finally put two and two together (with the help of my ex husband, who's also a bass player, a few years younger than Peter), I realized that Peter was the BASS PLAYER and singer! Now I absolutely CANNOT STOP watching Peter in the Chicago videos! I'm 65 now and feel really silly seeming to have a MASSIVE CRUSH on Peter from when he was with Chicago, particularly in the 70s! BUT I couldn't even name one of Peter's hits since he left Chicago. Looking at present-day Peter Cetera, I can't believe it's the same person! But OMG when he was with Chicago, TOTALLY different story!!! GORGEOUS! And the dimples!! And what is with Peter's bottom lip thing he does??? SO sexy!! I love the outfit though. I think the rock and roll thought of that time period for a lot of bands was: "If you really are a rock star then look like one"!

This version way more popular than the original by Steve Winwood. This was the first version I heard when I was a kid.

Can you imagine Johnny Farnham singing with them

The current Chicago lineup is a pretty good tribute band that happens to have some original members of the group -- nothing more. At a certain point the band really doesn't exist anymore, except as a way to make a little money for the current lineup. But I don't feel too sorry for Cetera and Seraphine -- I imagine that royalties from back catalog sales aren't anything to sneeze at. I saw them perform on their tour for 16, and considered it a privilege. Too young to have seen TK.

By this time the leadership had shifted from Terry to Cetera. Let us remember the greatest Chicago member - Terry Kath. Without there would be no.

Not really, Cetera took over a few years later in the 1980's. Although Cetera was featured on stuff like If You Leave Me Now and Baby What a Big Surprise. The simple fact is that Cetera sang the lead vocal on the majority of Chicago hits. Although Cetera only sang the lead vocal on one song on Chicago X1.

This was the Peter Cetera I wish I was in a Disco band faze! In my opinion where he ended up a disco band would have been ideal! Without Terry Kath though it just was over!

¡Juan esto es oro! Esta versión de "Got to get you into my life" es superior a la de los Beatles.
