The word is ACCOUNTABILITY. Just because I look at a guy from across the street and I feel he is a criminal, doesn't mean the guy is a criminal. Mac G and the crew had no knowledge of these allegations. The interview has triggered her and the fact that she was trending for 3 days from it. I understand she was emotional when she went on Instagram and decided to attack Mac G. Take accountability and say I was wrong. My fight is with the person that I am accusing of causing harm to me, not the interviewer that had no knowledge about the allegations. I don't understand her calling Mac G a nobody kodwa you are calling on people to come forward about their rape stories for a "nobody." For someone who grew up being bullied for being fat as a teenager and was made to feel like she's a nobody, that was really a low blow. I was telling my mom the other day that before one decides to be an activist for rape, GBV and they are survivors. One needs to put work into healing. Healing is an every day job kodwa one won't go around projecting their pain, trauma on everyone.

Very well put, I think the number of women who have been sexuality assaulted is extremely high and the desperation to see men be punished is also high so women generally will make an emotional choice to support anyone crying rape without any logic or proof at all. I'm a women and the way Amanda went about telling her story and throwing damaging accusations at MacGyver without proof or out of spite makes it hard to be on her side. It makes rape seem like a weapon that can be thrown at any man whenever triggered. Most of the time the truth is somewhere in the middle and she has made it more difficult for real victims to be believed. I'm not saying she is lying but the way she is going about it makes it really hard for the movement against GBV.

In 2004 I used to attend court hearing at Mahikeng Magistrate Court just to understand how the law works. I stopped going there when I got to witness a man thrown to prison for 20 years after an interpreter messed up an old man (the accused dad). The old man said that the girl's parent came to his home and informed him that his son has broken their daughter's leg (literally meaning that the young man impregnated their daughter); and therefore they demanded R20k from him or else they are going to open up a rape case again the young man. The motive behind the R20k was that the poor old man managed to build a 6 room house for his family; and the young lady's parents thought that the old man is rich.

Amanda is mistaken in calling macg a rapist yes, however; macg is the main instigator by firstly using her name in his video captions and asking jub jub if he smashed to which jub jub uncomfortably answers 'ja she is one of them'... that line of questioning has made many of his guest uncomfortable, but he pursues in the interest of locker room banter, a feat he does not need in order to be succesfull, mind you he has an intellectual comedian and ghost lady to up the value of his show. its easy to read the room and grow up. it would not have hurt macg to edit the mentions of amanda out and remove her name from his video, but he did so anyways knowing that the millions who watched amandas video would go and watch his video for refference, it is a snakey move on macgs part, especially if we are to consider that jub jub is trauma trigger to amanda. EQ is a high expectation for a trauma case honestly. If he indeed goes against gbv why upload that interview? its clear that she doesnt want herself mentioned or captioned, why is it hard for macg to respect that?

You bring up these points to a normal person with any common sense in a conversation and that person will agree that those are very important and valid points. Even though they may have some equally important and valid opposing points. The one thing you can be sure about is that they will both agree that this is very complex and there's a lot of grey. Unfortunately that has never been the case with me when I've made these exact points on the topic and listening to the opposing points, really giving them some thought, asking questions to make sure that I understand them well enough and most importantly doing all of that in a genuine and conversational manner, making a real effort to get to some sort of mutual agreement and understanding and avoid getting personal where there's no need or no understandable reason for. All I got in response 99% of the time was "you're part of the problem"..."you're an example of how disgusting men are"..."you sound rapey/you're probably a rapist/someone close to you is a rapist and that's who you're defending" and the most popular one is "you're a rape apologist", which I've been called like dozens of times over this whole Jub Jub case. And I'm certain I'm not the only one, I've even seen girls who were accused of being apologists for making these points. I had already come to expect that though because I know that these people view anyone who does not agree with them as an enemy. And goal isn't proving or disproving a point, it isn't coming to an understanding or agreement or agreeing to disagree or winning a debate, their main and only objective is to destroy the enemy by any and all means possible including deliberate and targeted lies, hiding and turning a blind eye to crucial facts, ignoring their own contradictions and fallacies, making baseless accusations. These people people always hit us with ''You're a part of the problem" but in truth they are the ones who are a huge and crucial part of the problem because the people who make false accusations fully rely on them.
