I am a Kashmiri Pandit and my mother personally knows Achint and his family. She also immediately called her friend (Achint's sister) as soon as she saw this. The acount that Achint has given is NOTHING compared to how horrifyingly his father was assassinated. He was tortured the entire night (with cigarette butts etc.), his house was surrounded by Islamic terrorists and his father was later found in a dry well the next day. He was so young when this happened and my mother recalled everything as soon as she heard what I was watching! I am absolutely shattered by how some people did not let him talk about his viewpoints. This Middle Ground video represents the political situation of the country very well nowadays and how absolutely DIFFICULT it has become to express viewpoints and even state facts. At the same time, I am nothing but PROUD of Achint and the way he spoke. He was an absolute gentleman, so soft spoken and my heart cries for him because he was surrounded with such insensitive people. THIS IS EXACTLY what infuriates Kashmiri Pandits in this country. I am glad we still take our space, even though exactly like some people here would not want us to do that.

“None of my business. Not my problem.” The most insensitive thing a person can say sitting in front of a victim. Achint, no words for you loss. You and your family is a victim of hatred of Kashmiri muslims on Kashmiri Hindus. This shouldn’t have happened. It is the combined hatred of one community on another that made this happen, it is not one person’s doing.

If her parents were welcoming to her husband, then she wouldn't see her husband in that light and view Muslim violence towards Hindus as justifiable but Hindu actions towards Muslims as not. The point is not that Hindu actions should be justifiable, the pointis that all actions should be portrayed as bad, and both go fundamentally against the religion they are supposed to be championing

I hated how they were all just silent when they came to sit down. It's one thing to be tongue tied but how did NOBODY even say 'I am sorry for your loss'? And when Kabir eventually said it he was criticised! Saying 'I am sorry for your loss' is NOT the same as taking blame!!! It's a way of expressing sympathy!!!! When Ali said 'Not my business, not my problem' I wanted to kick him below the belt.

@@silverkittyzen how? he said it as a formal apology on behalf of the community. they all should’ve said im sorry for your loss, but at the same time, none of them are to blame for the death. meanwhile, some of the other people were denying the facts and sidelining the experiences of muslims such as the sacrifice. if you are fearful of death when it comes to tradition, there is clearly something really wrong. so please don’t criticize the muslims without critizing the hindus for denying that muslims face discrimination. i agree with you that the trauma is real, but you have to look at everything from a broad sense

However, since you went further, I'd have to say I disagree with where people think they have no responsibility to be part of a positive difference, especially if they belong to a group that throughout history has been a source of violence. It's honorable when someone chooses to be a part of changing that. Looking the other way, in a sense, makes you a part of the problem does it not? As far as him saying he isn't a part of the hate, yeah I get that. But what he said, what I specifically mentioned, was a pretty messed up thing to say regardless

If Achint had been a Muslim and his family were the victims of the assassination, would Ali still have said “it’s not my problem!”? We are so used to wanting to see one community as being victimised that when perpetrators come from that community we lose all balance and objectivity. I lost interest in this discussion when Achint’s lived experiences were completely dismissed and turned into something else and diverted by attention seeking Pallavi

I think what he meant 2 say was u can't "expect" another Muslim to apologise for what another has done. So he didn't have to apologise but out of respect he should have gave his condolences. Apologising and being apologetic are 2 different aspects. Feeling apologetic does not mean that you directly caused a problem but you feel remorse and shame for what happened to the other person. I find it strange when Pallavi started discussing about how Hindus should apologise or feel remorse for Mosques being burnt. Why should a Hindu who has not caused a Mosque to burn be made to feel apologetic? The rules change when it’s the other way round isn’t it? Double standards much 🤷‍♀️ A middle ground can only ever be attained when a community is objective and is able to introspect within rather than solely celebrating victimhood. If someone from your community makes a mistake or commits a crime in the name of the religion that is wrong and that action would have ruined someone’s life so yes be apologetic about it and condemn what that person from your community did. That is the mature, objective and truly unbiased way to deal with sensitivity.

Even the archaeological survey and evidence was shown by muslim archaeologist (KK Muhammed) and he has accepted after the survey and collecting all evidence of base and pillars of temples that there was actually a temple before there was mosque.

What was the point of his comment if not settling scores? His detractors said those things happened and were terrible. They also pointed out that the destruction of temples doesn't justify the destruction of masjids. Both are bad and should stop.

@@itr8247 He wasn't referring to that masjid. He was referring to temples in Kashmir. I'm also not sure why Muslims of today should suffer because of something Muslims of the past did (i.e. building a masjid on top of a temple). There is a middle ground that doesn't result in continued suffering on either side. To do otherwise is just settling scores.

😂Pallavi Represented Hinduism Like Ex Muslim Represented Islam. Note that at least the former Muslims are aware of the Quranic Hadith. But leave aside the Veda Puranas, Pallavi does not even know the language in which these Veda Puranas are written i.e. Sanskrit because she has never read Hindu scriptures and she is representing Hinduism. what a joke?

I could relate a bit to brother Achint's pain. During 1992-93 Bombay riots my uncle's hand was cut , he was 14 years old boy and other relative was murdered. We don't hate Muslims but there is mistrust. I cannot imagine Brother Achint's trauma. Sorry for your loss. May we have peace.

@@AC-mp7cx BJP has done more to benefit the Muslims than any other govt so far. Scholarships, grants, reservations, triple talaq abolition. Hindus have suffered disproportionately more than any community in Indian subcontinent, just see the situation in Pak and Bangladesh. Acting like victims all the time when you are the biggest perpetrator community.

When I studied in mumbai in school i remember one of my troubled classmates who had to change schools due to psychological reasons. She was elder by few years and her uncle and mother tried hard to make her fit . She was very apprehensive and wouldn't talk. Few years ago connected with her on Facebook . We chatted and turns out she is super friendly . I asked her why was she soo weird in school and what i heard has broken my heart . As a young child her father , her uncle and grandfather were chopped and thrown in a well and she and her sister was molested and rape. The twin sister couldn't survive because her orifices bled and got infected .her mother and aunties faced similar torture with her aunty dying due to internal haemorrhage and mother gangraped. It was a miracle how she and her mother escaped and reached Jammu to her mamaji. She was soo traumatised that for years she couldn't go to school . She started 4th grade with us after long break in mumbai where her other mamaji lived . We always felt she was too tall too fair and too older than us when we were kids and she was picked up a lot by bullies but hats off to whatever she survived

Pallavi has the sirname 'Sharma' which is also a hindu sirname. But as she married a muslim and and has issues with the religion she was born in, she should change her sirname, to a muslim sirname. She's also a part of a very hypocrite political party here in India INC, which pays less attention to religious rights of the majority religious group here in Indian .

It's sad how Achint's tragic lived experience was shut down so quickly and he was compared to the people who assassinated his father, especially since his father was targeted because of his religion in the first place. I didn't even see anyone condemning the perpetrators as much as they blamed Achint's potential "lashing out". In an ideal world, they should've discussed why Achint had to go through such a terrible loss in the first place (ie, the Kashmiri Pandit exodus), rather than focusing on how Achint ought to behave. That's simply disrespectful. "None of my business". "What's the difference between you and the perpetrators". It's sad, really.

im outraged by how blinded pallavi is!! she is clearly if not indirectly taking the side of one religion throughout the whole video and this debate was not an equal one at all. we would urge you to invite actual hindus to this debate, who are educated and truly know their religion, i sense a liberandu here. also, coming from a kashmiri pandit ancestry myself, i completely empathise with achints' situation and am extremely heartbroken and angered by how his fathers' assassination was not taken into sight and was arrogantly brushed aside. achint, we are very sorry for what happened and would do anything in the world to change the past of kashmir and the GENOCIDE that took place upon kashmiri hindu pandits. very ashaming. I don’t get it at all like Pallavi can’t admit the fact that Hindus suffered a lot. She also pretended that it is okay for 350 Hindu temples to be burned down. I am pretty sure she really hates Hindus because every single time she tried to justify that it is completely fine what Hindus went through. I mean she should admit the fact that she really doesn’t like Hindus and she shouldn’t be on Hindus side either. She took a lot away from hindu side compared to whatever she had to offer and she didn’t let hindu side have a point, i think that could be because her parents don’t accept her or something else.
