Lyrics:
When you feel safe
When you feel warm
That's when I rise
That's when I crawl
Gliding on mist
Hardly a sound
Bring the kiss
Evils abound
In the dead of night
Love bites
Love bites
In the dead of night
Love bites
Into your room
Where in deep sleep
There you lie still
To you I creep
Then I descend
Close to your lips
Across you I bend
You smile as I sip
Now you are mine
In my control
One taste of your life
And I own your soul
Softly you stir
Gently you moan
Lust's in the air
Wake as I groan
In the dead of night
Love bites
Love bites
In the dead of night
Love bites
Love bites you
Invites you
To feast in the night
Excites you
Delights you
It drains you to white
Love bites
You knew at first sight
You'd enjoy my attack
That with my first bite
There'd be no turning back
So come in my arms
I strike any hour
I will return
To trap and devour
In the dead of night
Love bites

The most iconic Priest song? No. But this tour, this show, and this performance is the pinnacle of the live Priest experience. Halford hits some of the highest notes he ever recorded live, and his stage presence is undeniable. I saw them in Detroit on this tour and the energy and magic was palpable, the power and electricity brought a crowd of thousands together in a singular moment of near-ecstasy, a feeling I'll never forget. Back then people were very critical of metal and its fans, but even as a young man who eventually became a politically conservative 53-year-old, I'll never forget how Rob's fans reacted to his coming out. The general consensus? Who cares! He is and was the Metal God, and legions of heavy metal fans showed exactly what tolerance, acceptance and respect meant. We taught the world what having an open mind and accepting people for who they are meant way before it was fashionable, because it was real and because once upon a time respect meant something, something that trumped skin color or sexual orientation. I always knew we were a good lot, despite our reputation as simple unsophisticates. Rob Halford, the greatest vocal talent, the greatest metal showman, the true Metal God and the performance of a lifetime.

Bob Kelly One of the best comments/passages I have seen on KZfaq. I was also an "unsophisticated" (metal fan) in beginning in the mid 1980s. My dad was stationed in Germany, and it big name concerts were so close by. We never saw Judas Priest, but we did see Accept, Def Leppard, Iron Maiden, Saxon (all twice). We also saw Deep Purple and Metallica in 1985. I'm also fairly conservative minded, even play bass in a church praise team, but I still love the NWOBHM for Priest, Maiden, and Saxon. Killer riffs and vocals, energy and adrenaline! Keep rockin'!

Bob and windk: I'm in my mid 50's and I saw Judas, AC/DC, Dio, Black Sabbath and more...all around 1988 to the early '90's. Let me just say that the Judas Priest concert stood out far and away from the rest, although AC/DC came close. My best friend, who never had any money to pitch in for beer, somehow got front row tickets TWICE...for both Judas and AC/DC. The Priest show had my mind blown from the first song, which I believe was, "Electric Eye." The Judas concert (and AC/DC) stood out, I think, because the show seemed totally fan-oriented. It seemed like the concert's focus was MY (a fan) enjoyment and nothing else. I remember that time so vividly...the music was crisp, but louder than life and, yes, Rob Halford is the ultimate showman. Seriously special time that only those who were there can understand and appreciate.

I totally agree with your statement....but everyone who had common sense knew Halford was gay as fuck....but nobody cared this tour in particular the album was soft but the stage show was blistering. I was there. In Chicago!!!!

Agree with your statement fully. I'm in my 50's also and will always remember our Generation of metalheads. I heard Rob say in a video once, that this tour was so expensive that when they were done..They didn't profit a dime! It doesn't get any more metal than that?!

This riff is over 30 years young ...and it still resonates so much that a J-Metal band have used it as their name. Hell yeah ...check 'em out.

They're a great band, but from what I read, they got their name from a Halestorm song. They even performed it live with Lzzy Hale

I remember being at this concert in Houston Texas @ a venue called, The Summit. Was my very first metal concert. Man oh man the vocals on Rob Halforld were like no other! Since then I was hooked. I’ve been a Judas Priest fan since then! Never missed a show. Seeing them live at this concert not only gave me goosebumps, it literally made me feel reenergized. There is nothing else in this world that can ever replicate the feel of a live Judas Priest concert during the late 80’s and 90’s! No video, film or phone recording.
