Feel like this is the only time they performed anything from Ram It Down. I don’t get why they dismiss the album, I fricken love it cause it felt like Proto-Painkiller.
@maxheadroom18372 жыл бұрын
Great album, I think they changed up their sound (and drummer) after this album and didn’t waste much time on playing it live but it has some forgotten shredders on it for sure. There wasn’t a single on it that blew up like Turbo Lover and the album cover art was shit.

@CKT11383 жыл бұрын
@@metalerowilliamxxx it's not. KK Downing said it was a drum machine in his book, and he wasn't the first person to admit that either, Rob has also said it. We need a dvd w. concerts from the 1981 'Point Of Entry' Tour, 1984 'Defenders of the Faith' tour, the 'Mercenearies of Metal/Ram it Down' tour of 1988, and Painkiller tour 1990/91. According to people that were on the New Haven show 1988(the FM broadcast bootleg), that show was also filmed. Cameras were seen all over the place.

I'm still waiting for a professionally recorded release of the Ram It Down tour (if it exists), maybe on a 30th anniversary release of RID, like they did with DotF. Some may argue with me, but I've listened to a lot of live Priest, and Halford's voice peaked in '88- after he stopped doing drugs and drinking, but before the ciggies started taking their toll.

That ending to Ram It Down was incredible. Everyone backed away from Rob as if they would go deaf if they stood too close, the crowd went completely nuts afterwards too. Rob literally stumbled afterwards because of that whole vocal section (or he just tripped on something, but I prefer to think of that ending as just soo magneficent, even he couldn't handle it.) Amazing performance all around.

@UpTheSnakes There was however a few tracks on 'Ram It Down', where Holland was absent. Not because he couldn't play the drum parts, that is just nonesense, but because his father was ill at the time. After the tour in 1988, Holland left, as his father had just died, is what Downing said in an interview in 1990 or so. A drum machine was used when Holland was absent, such as on 'Blood Red Skies', 'Love Zone', 'Love You To Death and 'Monsters Of Rock'. The rest is Holland, and great drumming too.
