This song sounds like a medieval folk song played on modern instruments. I mean that literally; I can vividly imagine this being played by a group of bards at a tavern in feudal England, except obviously with the instruments that existed in that time period. Actually, it kinda sounds like that one song from Skyrim that you always hear being played in the inns; the one that goes "We drink to our youth, to days come and gone..." You know which one I'm talking about? That's what this song reminds me of.

More than any other song ive ever heard, this feels like medieval battle music. I could imagine an army of men clad in chain mail marching into battle chanting the vocal melodies, with war drums and lutes and tin whistles and flutes playing that lead guitar melody. Some one should make a version of this song like that, it would be amazing.

Actually if you listen to him live, I think he sounds a lot better than he did in the 90s and the early 80s (like the US Festival, where I think he sounded terrible). Listen to Jawbreaker, Victim of Changes or Devil's Child in Pittsburgh from this tour. They're absolutely phenomenal.
