I love when Kevin Spacey says “can you excuse me for a second?” John Cusack just stands there instead of leaving. Also, Jude Law is really good in this scene.

Jude Law normally plays good and laidback characters in a lot his movies. However, he’s truly terrifying and downright nasty in playing a villain!
@gardensofthegods2 ай бұрын
Did you see him in that movie The Road to Perdition ? If not his role in that was brilliant I think it was his best character because he really does make you forget he's Jude Law ... plus that was another scary character

i don't understand why people are being so judgmental about Jude's accent. i'm not a native speaker, i don't speak the language with a southern accent, although his accent to my ears sounds very southern. in either case, well done to him who attempted to do a such accent in the beginning of his glorious career. what a versatile actor!

Worst accent for me was Meryl Streep trying to be Italian in Bridges of Madison County. I still just love this movie.

One of the best southern accents I’ve heard from an actor. It’s more Appalachian than southern but still not bad at all.

I'm a Savannahian that's the southern aristocratic accent and the mannerisms derived from the planter class from the antebellum period. I don't hear it much any more , but native Savannahians have more of a Riley green accent or Megan Moroney she's from Chatham county. That still here , spacey did a fabulous job..thou srs

It's kinda funny to me when Jude blows into the bottle as he says:, "I'm pissed off!" 0:17. : )

I saw Jude Law being interviewed by Katie Currack back when Cold Mountain was about to be released and she asked him if he had ever had a role where he used a Southern accent and he said NO. WTF? Then she asked if she could hear a sample of his Southern accent. I was praying that he would do this bit, but again he told her NO. I guess he just wasn't feelin it.

Someone said it is the Savannah accent that you don't hear of much anymore that came from the Old South which was more aristocratic
@XAUSTXCOREX12 жыл бұрын
There are several differing southern accents. I noticed that when movies are depicted in the southern U.S. that often British and/or Australian actors are chosen for the parts. Is it possible that they are usually better at doing the accents?

Forgive me for asking such a stupid question but was Billy, Jim's "Boy Toy". It kind of reminds me of a character named Dwyane Lonergan, a Boy Toy of an Older Gentleman named Esmond Bland in a Book called "A Season In Purgatory". He somehow reminds me of Andrew Cunanan.
@Tawroset2 жыл бұрын
I know this is a bit late (LOL) but yes, he was basically a hustler and Jim was one of his, um, "protectors". And you're right, he was very much like Cunanan, exchanging sex with men (and sometimes women) for money and other benefits.
@knina270 Жыл бұрын
Based on real information and documentaries... Yes, he was a Toy Boy. It took someone 11 years to answer the question 😅😅😅

This was obviously when he was just upcoming as an on screen actor and he probably couldn't do the accent because of his own, so at least he tried.
@tiaaaron32785 жыл бұрын
No,it's Clint Eastwood who did a shitty job here. Jude Law was in Wilde and Gattaca in the same year,and he was phenomanal in both. Clint Eastwood couldn't get great performances out of these talented actors.

Somebody from Savannah said he did the older Savannah accent which you don't hear much of any more and they said what he was doing was from the Old South and it was a more aristocratic type of southern accent

I agree. My family has lived in the South for 200 years. It’s not bad at all. To me it sounds like a country Southern accent. Georgia and South Carolina, specifically.
