I absolutely agree!! Throughout the video, it kept saying "The mother is just as bad as he is". I adamantly disagree....she's FAR WORSE!!! He is the step dad that did horrific things to these children. She is the actual parent who not only allowed it but also pressuring her child to beg the judge to allow him to come back! I have worked with women in recovery for 34 years. I can tell you from listening to so many life stories over the years that a parent not supporting an abused child is more harmful than the abuse. That was my sentiments too, I pray that the victim who spoke will take this opportunity to get far away from the "mother" in name only. I believe while reading the letter, alluded to "her" children, which means she's of age & can probably get out on her own. What kind of mother puts her child in a detrimental position, such as SA??? I remember when I told my mom her man was touching me/sisters & how she didn't believe me, I never got over how I was made to feel & I'm in my late 50', to this day I've never felt protected or safe around ANY man, with the exception of my Pastor & the elder deacons in the church I attend. Praying for peace, safety & a secured life for these victims, her mother will never know the harm she's brought to her children.

A mother who prioritizes her financial needs over her children’s safety like this will absolutely do it again. We can only hope that CPS, the local community, and local police will keep a VERY close eye on this family. The mother will allow another predator to have access to her kids if he provides financial incentives. The next one may be even worse, and there absolutely will be a next one. Predators have a 6th sense for women who will turn a blind eye to predation in exchange for their own desires. They can spot a woman who will sacrifice her children for her own comfort, so another predator will find her. She is attracted to the type of man that is wired this way. Her selfishness is fundamental in the type of relationships she seeks out. She is looking for a partner that provides financial security and she doesn’t look any further than the money. She’s just wired to prioritize her own comfort over her children’s safety. That type of personality pattern is not amenable to change, especially if she refuses to acknowledge what she has done and is willing to continue to let happen. Her adult daughter with a child has been raised by her mother and has been taught this same pattern. All of the children need to be removed from this dangerous situation and need intensive therapy. The adult daughter needs therapy NOW. She has a very high risk of developing the exact same destructive personality patterns that she learned from her mother.

I am so addicted to watching Judge Boyd enforce her judgements. She is awesome... I love how she instructs her court proceedings. As a victim of sexual child abuse the abuser does not think about nor care how much damage they inflict on their victim. It is such a selfish self serving act that often times destroys the lives of the victim forever. At 65 I still suffer and have had to live with the trauma of sexual abuse inflicted upon me starting at the age 5 ending at 11. Not having someone to stand up for me or protect me was almost as traumatizing as the abuses. Unfortunately, people who think like that mother does won’t simply change with one speech, no matter how impactful it may seem to us. It will probably just make her mad, make her feel victimized by the courts, and hold an even bigger grudge against the judicial system because she didn’t want to accept the truth. The biggest truth in it is that she was complicit in the molestation of her children and so much more. She’s never going to look at herself in the mirror and face that though. She’ll continue to see in herself what she wants- no matter what the truth is, who gets hurt, or what’s at stake.

Well it doesn't have to be your opinion because it's actually the law. So no matter what anybody's opinion is yes legally she can and should have been already punished and had jail time and had her children taken away because no parent that allows some type of sexual abuse should ever be allowed access to children they should have a stain on their record. And we're not talking about moms or dads that didn't know we're talking about the ones that do know and still don't do anything.

Lone Wolf, thank you for presenting cases like this. I am working on finishing my degree in early childhood education. I participated in a fundraiser this weekend in support of a DV shelter. Your efforts help remind me I need to work more with state politics. Parents need to get the message. Stop CA or go to jail. We have shelters and yes, it is hard to uproot your children to protect them from abuse. It is the law though. We need to educate parents how to look out for abusers. Few, very few ever rehabilitate. I needed someone to make sure I understood this. Being a survivor, religion taught me to be supportive and forgive. It was stupid teaching. Someone can be very good but bad when drunk. No serious CA and no SA. I had him arrested when he relasped. Rinse and repeat. I couldn't understand why rehab didn't work? It only works when you work it. It requires regular meetings for years. It requires focus without distractions. Why it is best children are not involved. DV shelters have resources. Sadly, too many people out there have issues. It is more like good luck finding a good partner. Not many of them out there. Be prepared to fail. Not enough good prospect. Find good support groups and use birth control. People, please support all forms of birth control. Having a child you cannot support. To play a fairytale that can turn into a nightmare. We know, even with laws, if your partner doesn't want to support their child? They won't. Very few pay enough to hold up their side. The worst will keep using you to get something out of the deal. Society is changing some. With great resistance. Why you learn employable skills. Support your kids education. If you want a child? Be able to support them. It is our right and responsibility to be able to care for ourselves and our children. Society has offered us some help. Not as much as is needed to provide a nice home if our partner flakes on us. But enough to keep us afloat. The rest is up to us. Laws have been written about CA and SA to protect criminals. Yes, to protect the innocent but in crimes against children? They are too weak. Public expects criminals to want to behave even though their actions prove otherwise. Criminals target children because they are born with a blank slate. Like putty, they have learned how to mold them into victims. Just as most of us try to teach them to be good. They only know good because that is what we teach them. Why, crimes against children of this magnitude must be as serious as murder. Many become criminals because criminals raised them to think this way. This case, just knowing there are many more like this, has to convince good people to please. Give less to churches. More directly to the groups doing the most good. This woman, like Shanda, Leticia, these mother who expect a certain lifestyle and will sacrifice their children to achieve it. They only bear children to use them as tools to get support from a partner. Like this mother crying, where is my beautiful house? Fancy purse? I will use my children as payment to make sure a partner will give it to me. Why, if this mother isn't prosecuted? Her children put into a safe house? All they may have learned is life is terrible and that terrible people get what they want. If a mother who helps a criminal commit terrible acts goes unpunished? It is okay. Kids are bad. Not mom. This is why the children should be removed. This mom was gutter bad. With intensive intervention she might be re-educated but these children need severe education that she cannot provide. Time is ticking for that window to help them learn how not to become abused or abusers. Mom is not that person.

Judge Boyd makes the decision in court of who's going to prison. Judge Boyd said that so the children won't feel sorry for sending their stepfather to prison and having the mother putting a guilt trip on the kids. She said that so the kids know from the judge it isn't their fault and the judge warning the mother not to do it. She's protecting the kids because mom's only worrying about money and not the well-being of the children.
@Pepper9873
@Pepper9873 6 ай бұрын
@@arnoldhenry I know why Judge Boyd said what she said, but the fact remains that the man's actions are what put him in prison, not Judge Boyd. Judge Boyd is an enforcer of the law; her only real decision is how much prison time he should serve and if parole or other options are available to him. He committed a crime that has a prison sentence. This isn't a new thing that people can get trapped with not knowing the law. He still chose to molest children. Had he gone in front of any other judge, he would still be in prison because of HIS actions.

He got 10 years in prison, so it isn't like they reduced it to something minor. They reduced it from a first degree felony to a second degree felony. You see some cases where a first degree felony is reduced to a misdemeanor and that's just crazy (unless evidence has come to light that means they are unlikely to get a conviction on the original charge - they should always drop a charge they no longer think they can prove), but a small reduction can be very sensible. The difference between what he pled to and what he was originally charged with is that the original charge requires at least two acts more than 30 days apart, while the offence pled to only requires a single act. The act in question is the same. It may be the evidence was a little shaky on proving multiple acts. It is likely, given what we heard, that the mother was very reluctant for the child to testify (it isn't ultimately the mother's decision, but it is going to be difficult to get good quality testimony from a child whose parent is getting in the way). So they may have had difficulty proving the original charge, in which case reducing the charge in exchange for a plea is a good option. Trials can be unpredictable, especially with a child victim taking the stand, so there it is a gamble to take a case like this to trial. There is a chance the defendant gets acquitted because the child ends up being a very poor witness (perhaps because of the mother). What is crazy is that probation was even being discussed for a second degree felony. The charge carries a minimum sentence of five years in prison. The fact that you can get probation on a charge that the law gives a minimum prison sentence to makes no sense to me.
