My eldest daughters boyfriend at 16 back chatted me in my own home. He was banned from even knocking on my door for 2 years. She is now 49 married to this man and have two children. The day his first daughter was born and I went to the hospital the first thing he said to me was "if she brings a boy home like me at 16 she will be in trouble" He gave me a big hug saying I get it now . We have a very good relationship

I love that the mother is saying ‘the gps is causing a lot of problems’ when the one it’s on is the one causing the problems. Knowing he had a court hearing and purposefully violating the terms of a probation, or whatever the terms were he wasn’t supposed to use period. He earned that GPS monitor and all of the consequences that go along with it.

I adore this judge! I know many say that some of her questions, advice & statements aren't relevant or her business,, but that's the beauty of being a Judge,, so long as she doesn't cross any legal lines,, she is fully entitled to ask, advise and say whatever she feels needed,,,& when you are in front of her facing prison time, I would suggest you listen, PAY ATTENTION and hang onto every single word she speaks!

Agree. Shes tough, but she seems genuinely invested and wanting people to succeed. Sometimes people, especially youths are in big doo doo so they need a stern wake up. I’m sure she’s filled with super busy days and could just plow through, but she takes her times. It’s a refreshing balance. I’ve also noticed she’s super watchful if there’s minors or young children caught up, or Cps/DFS is involved! I noticed her comments about home healthcare places hiring risky workers and it’s very concerning. It’s funny because I worked in the hospital for years and noticed the same thing! I saw some with severe criminal charges or even harm against children charges. That’s soo scary and I feel validated that she noticed the same.

This month I have 7 doctor appointments, I had to take my mom to 2 doctor appointments and I have had 3 tee times for golf, plus 2 lunch dates. I haven't gotten a single date or time confused, thus (so far) I've showed up for every single appointment or tee time, early. And none of these appointments could cause me to be placed in jail and take away my freedom. It's called personal responsibility!

Happy Birthday, Judge Manning! I hope your wife gives you the opportunity to speak at home, on your birthday. As someone who did a fair amount of public defense work out of law school my advice to anyone who I represented who had a protective order that was amended, "Until you have the amended order in your hands it isn't amended. An order amending it may not have been immediately provided to the judge for their signature or what you understood could be different than what is put on the order. If you go about your life like it's amended, before you have a copy, there is a possibility that you will be arrested for a violation. Don't put yourself in that situation. Once you have it in your hands, make sure you understand the restrictions, and keep a copy with you so you have proof for police if you are stopped and they can verify that order."

The amount of laziness parents accept from their children these days is absurd. I have three daughters, and my expectations for them are known and clear: speak clearly, stand up straight, yes & no ma'am/sir, no boys alone, work before play. Chores must be done without allowance - I am not paying my kids for things they're supposed to do anyway. No excuses; they're responsible for their own choices. Great judge!

It may be different, since I live in a state where medicinal & recreational Mary Jane is legal, but most employers here don't care if you do it, as long as you aren't under the influence at work. The test the Judge gave him detects it for 30+ days after ingestion. The effect go away, generally, in 2-8 hours, depending on the person, the amount injested, and the type of product/method of injestion (like edibles vs smoking, etc)

This mother just does not get it. My husband and I raised our son with virtues: honor, integrity, compassion, humor, curiosity, duty, family bonds and so on. The hardest thing, I think my husband and I as parents have to do, is to step back at times and let him let him "fall". Because the reality is, some day, my husband and I won't be there for him.

You two sound like wonderful parents. Your son is very fortunate, and you probably won't have to worry about your grandchildren, too.

Judge Webster has an interesting array of eye glasses. Seems she has a different pair for each day of the week. I like Webster!

Ugh, I can’t stand her. Not as a judge, she’s a fine judge, but because she’s a language prescriptivist. Going after the way someone speaks as a way to reinforce how much of a mess they are and how they need to get the life together is the pettiest, least productive way to chastise someone. And I’m sure she carries that smug, holier-than-thou attitude with her in all her interactions off the bench.

Hey Mike - @18:18 when he said “yes” about the construction neighbor knowing if he smokes; to me he’s telling the truth, thus the hesitation. The reason he avoided any discussion of it is because his neighbor ALSO SMOKES! Lol the only lie was when he changed his answer to “No” - which clearly was the answer she was looking for…I don’t even know why I bother 😂

The hearing with the man child and his mommy, is one of the best sentencing hearings I’ve ever heard. She dished out a whole lot of reality to them both.

Speaking of Cuba…I was stationed there while in the Navy (GTMO) for 2 years. Beautiful island but what a mess in the early to mid-90s. Expected 40K refugees and received about 1 M.😳
