Many women are financially stuck before they enter relationships or marriage. Women don't have an earning problem they have a spending problem. - 2/3 of college debt is owned by women - 4/5 of consumer debt belongs to women - women spend on average 150% of their yearly earnings. That additional 50% is subsidized by husbands, fathers, brothers, credit, and loans.

Loved this segment. I'm 26, my mother made me watch judge Judy every day when I came home from school, which sounds hysterical, but quite frankly I am financially independent, I NEVER have let anyone drive my car, and never gave a mate/anyone money that wasn't returned... I really think it made me make better choices! If you're reading, maybe it's a good idea to make your daughter watch too! Haha

Why did Judge Judy say that the only way women would stop buying a bunch of crap for men and letting them max out their credit cards is if they become financially independent?! Didn't she mean emotionally independent? She said women are so desperate to nest and let men take advantage of them financially, so that suggests to me that these women are already financially independent but emotionally dependent. I think she got confused and thrown off track after Ellen's wild lesbian comment. LMFAO!!!

Judge Judy is what happens when a woman studies hard in school, makes a career, attains financial independence, then gets wiser through experience, all while keeping hold of her sense of humour. Absolutely love that woman - what a role model for girls today!!!
@deaaqua868 жыл бұрын
I think one reason why women date these men is because they think they can save them or change them. Every romance novel or romantic movie tells women that the bad boy can be saved with love. But that's not realistic, yet so many believe it.

+Amanda Jade so true in high school i asked out this pretty girl on a date she promise to meet me but never showed up then the next day she was making out with another dude who was a jock, turns out she likes hot mean jocks because apparently he would always treat her in the worst way possible, to this day they're still together, i would always say i would treat her better, but i guess she likes being treated like crap
@laila1989ism8 жыл бұрын
Sooo true. Look at 50 Shades of Grey. The hero is messed up but the heroine fights for him because she believes that she can "heal him". But let's be honest: how many people out there would donate their old lives for a complicated relationship just to save the broken one? Almost none.
@louiseb61118 жыл бұрын
It's actually true!!! I PROMISE YOU!!! From the age of 14 my partner was constantly in and out of detention centres and prison, due to petty crimes. Right up to the age of 24 until we met. He's now 36 (I'm now 33) and he hasn't been back in since! NOT ONCE!!!!! I'm not saying the reason for this is me. What I AM saying is...It was him having SOMEONE believe in him. Someone telling him he can be good, that he DOES have a good heart and that yes, he CAN be loved and show love and have his own family and not have the fear that he's not good enough for it or that someone's going to take it away from him at the drop of a hat. That he IS worthy of love! Love conquers all! And I'm a great believer in that!!! He's an amazing partner and father to our now 10 year old daughter and I couldn't be more proud to say that this incredible man is mine and always will be mine! He's my one true hero and I'm so glad we met! Love u baby!

Such a smart lady! My aunt ( who died years ago) said my wise grandfather always encouraged his daughters to get college educations. They were very middle class, far from rich and this was back in the 40s. He said they should become teachers so they would NOT have to depend on a man for their living. Very smart advise I - myself- followed (except I didn't become a teacher)...along with work hard and save. I followed that advise and am retired today....living comfortably and happy at 65!

My mom always taught me that - you need to be financially independent & well educated. Even if you never use it because your husband is very well off, you will always carry yourself as a formidable woman, worthy of the best. Should the unthinkable happen, either divorce or he loses his job, you know you have something to fall back on. Desperation is a foul stench, one that both women and men need to stop wafting. You shouldn’t settle for scraping the barrel or expect people to change themselves entirely.

As I have gotten into being an adult. I have learned that I don't need a man to make me happy or have my end life goal to be married have kids and build a life with someone. I can have kids and built a career and a life all on my own. I feel the reason this woman/ girls get into these relationships is because they are unhappy with their lives and need a man to fill that void. Which is not true no one can make you happy you need to do that for yourself.

+Ashley Maria Some insights. The dating pool right now is filled with late 30's/low 40's career and independent women who are suddenly turning into white knuckled clingers seemingly because of old maid fears. Not that I wish to date an "clinger" but suddenly tradition has become a very important need for their lives. One can tell that they are jumping fresh into these roles. Biology triumphs and all of the posturing and "free" memes fall short of the prospect of being alone. This dating age bracket is also filled with women "too cool for school" and are now developing into tear eyed clingers. Ideology is a bad partner, especially when facing a future of isolation.
@ashleymaria298 жыл бұрын
LET'S GO INC. That are just some woman who are doing that. now. In my age group there are a lot of guys who are very immature and don't have their life together. so girls who are more mature look for older (25 - 30) or younger depending.
