I was a legal professional for 25 years. I remember when crack became more prolific in the late 80s and early 90s. People who committed crime while addicted were just GONE on that drug. The things they would do would just boggle the mind. Good people would just abandon their jobs and families. That drug messed you up, white, black, rich, poor, young and old. My father's sister did the same thing to him while he was on his death bed in the hospital! Spent his money on her phone bill and whatever else she wanted. She was an ex crackhead but still had Crack ways in her. I haven't spoken to her since and I won't ever speak to her.

I took care of my mom and dad. Stopped working to take care of them. After my dad passed 13 more years taking care of mommy who had a debilitating stroke in 1989 to 2002. I took care of them and they took care of me; but I never misused there money. Shame on her

You can’t trust family

My golden child sister cleaned my mom out. She ran her estate 30k in the hole. My mom was going to switch from my sister to me. The day before she was going to change everything to me, she passed away the day before we had the appointment, she passed away. My sister did exactly what my mom was knew she was going to do.

It’s sad but I’m sure grandma was giving her money more and more for her habits

I was executor of my Mother’s finances. After a few years ( from being taken advantage of money wise) My Mother’s bank account had increased quite a bit. When she moved to nursing care, one of my younger sisters stole a book of checks. I caught it #1 checks she wrote was out of sequence. Sister said she bought Mom “ things for her nursing home room “ mind you, it was furnished. $2k was gone and absolutely nothing was purchased for my mother from my sister. I then found out sister had Botox done. This was 6 years ago and I still haven’t spoken to my sister, nor will I ever! Family sucks sometimes! There’s givers and takers! Karma is our friend.

My brother‘s son did the same thing to him. He was in the hospital intubated and he spent my brothers entire Social Security disability check for two months. Blew through it like a hurricane. Thankfully, my brother lived, but his son had no shame. Had the nerve to come down to the hospital and asked me for his ATM card. I didn’t give it to him, but he found a way to access my brothers money anyway. Left him pennyless until his next check came.
