The plaintiff says he’s newly sober from cocaine and alcohol, and he met the defendant in a treatment program and they dated. He’s suing his ex for a loan, property, and emotional distress. The defendant says she’s four years sober and insists she never borrowed money from the plaintiff.

Plaintiff said something deep, loosely quoted; "Maybe my higher power was a lower power, because if I had a higher power, I wouldn't be using..." --and I think that speaks volumes to anyone who has gone through getting help through substance abuse recovery. He gave into the lower power that getting high got him. It's similar to saying, "I hit rock bottom and that's when I started to heal myself." It shows that although sometimes addicts don't see the light at the end of the tunnel, they are fully aware of how the highs and lows of their addiction affect them in their recovering future. And I empathize, and respect his recovering journey.

His biggest mistake was becoming a drug addict. It was a bad idea to date a fellow addict but this guy has a track record of making bad decisions so at the core his problem is not really about her. He said in court he went out drinking and driving while on probation then crashed his car and went to jail. By the grace of God, he didn’t kill somebody. I get the feeling he has burned a lot of bridges if the only person he could get to go check on his apartment was his ex. I would have asked the manager before I asked my ex. btw I would have changed the locks when she moved out but he didn’t probably because he had already gone back to using before she left.

Judge Mathis is wrong for that.. that woman definitely sold his things or kept them. Judge knew that I just feel like the judge was irritated with him for some reason and he was telling the truth. Also, wish judge Mathis would have gave him some of that strong motivation to keep him focused ot offered him more help.

Had she gave or continued to give more sex, they wouldn't be here now. You can't sue because you didn't get the outcome you want from a bad dating relationship and recoup anything you spent/gave during that time period. Don't give what can't afford to no longer have. He was high during a good portion of this period. The defendant rightfully didn't want to deal with him during this messy period of his life because he was probably spiraling. I wish the man well but he needs to focus sobriety and getting stable, not a relationship. They both are ready at this time.

So agreeing to have sex with your boyfriend if he pays you, isn't being a user? It's not necessary to defend everything a woman does, some folks are just no good. When you know someone is in love with you and you do not feel the same way it's evil to play with their emotions.
