@odog76543

@LeshaFBaby that's honestly BS. Anyone can fall behind on child support. All if takes is you losing a job and you absolutely will fall behind, because it can can a least a month to get another job, then work 2 or 3 weeks til you get a first paycheck, and the new job might pay less than the last one. . . Ect. Maybe if we heard a very large arrearage that would indicate he barely ever paid and would be aptly called a deadbeat. But a man who temporarily fell behind, but eventually paid it off should not be labeled a deadbeat. There are also men who never knew they had a child because the mother kept the pregnancy from them and they broke up, only to get notices from the state Attorney General's office that they owe back child support for 6 years for a 6 year old child they never knew about. Those men will owe back child support as well unless they hit the lotto and are able to pay it all in one lump sum. Mathis is just in his feelings on this one because his own father was not in his life. Not even sure if his father paid child support. This chick said the IRS was garnishing her checks, which indicates she owes back taxes. Doesn't that mean she's a deadbeat taxpayer by yours and Mathis logic? They lock people up for not paying taxes (Wesley Snipes) just like they can lock people up for not paying child support.

As far as the mom is concerned I’m sure she wouldn’t want to give the dad one red cent she was clearly the primary caregiver and provider for their mutual child. I won’t say she’s right because she’s not but I understand. As for the daughter, if the mom got the tickets they’re not her tickets.

Judge Mathis is shady! Father took care of responsibilities! He paid back support, Sold daughter a car. after hearing the case this case is like any other you bought a used car as-is no warranty. You can't come back later crying because it broke going to hood mechanics who don't know what they are doing furthermore she allowed mother to drive vehicle she at fault since she purchased it not mother. #badjudgement

being behind on child support while claiming you do everything for your child is telling. especially when he has all these cars to sell and claims he drives trucks so much he cant see his daughter. he painted a picture of a workaholic with nice things and pays his way with his children, but was behind on child support...those dont go together… i think you’re right that JM can have an old school mindset that makes him judge certain ppl in harsher lights that aren’t warranted. i just do not agree that this man is a good example of JM jumping to unfair conclusions about ppl in bad situations. the daughter should have been pressed more for why the IRS was garnishing her checks tho, to be fair

♥️ I do, too! He’s as skilled or more skilled at cross-exams & he’s a LOT funnier! But for small claims judges, both are very instructive in demonstrating what they do! (Solve people’s legal problems, …humorously.) I’ve observed another “talent” they both have over most lay people-they instinctively know how to ask tough questions! In superior courts and state courts, MANY cases would evaporate overnight, IF people got themselves to honestly answer or to ask many of the same questions before entering into ANY so-called “agreements” with the people they take to court.

@@sly_tendencies87 it's not that hard if you actually paid attention. The daughter clearly agreed to buying the car and gave the post dated checks. She then allowed her MOTHER to drive the car, unbeknownst to the plaintiff, and racked up a bunch of tickets in his name since they never registered the car in their own name. That also means they were driving it ILLEGALLY. The car was supposed to be for the DAUGHTER. Why was the mother in such dire straights that she had to borrow her daughter's car, which caught on fire 1 day after she bought it, to daily drive to and from work?! Then got it IMPOUNDED! Mathis is talking trash to the plaintiff for falling behind on child support (as if there is never a legitimate reason why one could have arrears and that only deadbeats have arrears). The daughter's excuse for not paying is because the IRS is garnishing her paychecks (which indicates she has a TAX ARREARAGE) but of course Mathis doesn't consider her a deadbeat taxpayer. And any other time two people make a deal, and one party allows a third party to cause financial or material loss, the judge states that the wronged party can choose to after either the party in the contract or the third party. But because he was biased, he just made an emotional ruling to force the plaintiff to sue the third party only.

This child support payments into the rearrange can happen to any non- custodial parent due loss of income, illness . Therefore nobody's total characteristics should defined by child support arrears. Judge has never had pay child support.

I agree and I'm a woman that daughter was full of excuses and it sounds like her and her mother doesn't make the best choices and they use their father then shame him for his past when he makes them accountable she she should have not got her money back she knew what her mama was doing and it's a victim mentality. In my opinion a parent who doesn't help you at all as a parent who doesn't care if you could go to your daddy and ask him to do stuff then you ain't that mad at him you just use it against him

Yes he is biased af, beyond reason at certain times. Flipping the law to work for who he is supporting. Her ass did not deserve to win honestly. She grown af, and made a commitment. I couldn’t go thru his condescending ass Cause we would be going back and forth off principle.

Not necessarily true about arrears.. a judge can make u pay arrears when u first get put on child support depending on the kids ages and how the judge is feeling about the case.. my first two kids I was made to pay child support and arrears simply because my kids mother didn't tell the truth that her and the kids were living with me and and I paid 90% of all the bills.. because I made more money the judge hit me.. and took pity on their mother and said everything I did for them was considered a gift 🤷

JM acts like the man in the second case was negligent in paying his child support; the man caught up on ALL of his payments AND kept giving her money while she was in college even after his ex- wife told him that the girl wasn't his. The daughter is a grown woman and is STILL hitting him up for money. I think the man went above and beyond for his daughter.

First case should have went to the plaintiff. Putting emotion aside, the daughter was at fault for lending the car to her mom. Dad gave the car to the mom. Say he lent her the car, she’s still responsible. Then SHE can sue her mom. Whoever is given possession of something is responsible.
