Judge Mathis

2 жыл бұрын

The plaintiff says he was married to the defendant’s mother and admits he and her mother were addicted to meth after their other daughter was born. He says he’s been clean for five years. He’s suing his stepdaughter for the balance due on a loan. The defendant says the plaintiff was an excellent father until his drug abuse started and she had to go into the foster system at age 13.

Postpartum depression is no joke. You legitimately check out and at times can become repulsed by your own child. Some say "how on earth is that possible" but it is. You eventually come around, but it takes hard work and understanding that you're evolving, not disappearing. Sounds unbelievable, but absolutely true. Keep fighting, mommies out there.

I had horrible postpartum with my first daughter. On a daily basis for months my brain was telling me to "run away" with my daughter and never see anyone again. I was always feeling like I needed to die, like my daughter would be better off without me. I would rage horribly and act like a lunatic over the smallest things. It was a living nightmare. It is SO scary and very very real.

If JM chooses to deal with family that disrespects him and constantly insult him, then fine. Don't advise somebody else to just deal with it too just becuz of who the person or ppl are to them. I have friends that's been more like family than my own. Some ppl are put in our life to only teach us lessons in life, also called karmics which includes family, friends and lovers. It is the worst advice you can give someone. I was twisted by a man for a few years. I was young and dumb. I don’t have kids so I finally got out and went straight to counseling. In counseling you learn to love yourself and give yourself self worth. That and meditation changed my entire life. The WORST thing you can do is not make boundaries. It can get real ugly. Wow, I personally needed to hear this. I had a best friend of over 20 years that drained me mentally, emotionally & financially. I finally got fed up & blocked her cold turkey. She’s shocked that I cut her off, to the point where she involved my son in the matter. To this day, I still don’t want to speak with her however judge Mathis said, I need to leave to love from a distance. I like what he explained on loving near & far. I wish I could have the courage to unblock her, I’m still hurt.

I wish JM would let these people talk. We hear his story every single case. It’s annoying, and that’s toxic. She doesn’t have to deal with her. She isn’t here for his advice . It’s a lawsuit. Second, he talks too much. Allow the people to tell their story. Instead of trying to tell them how to deal w the toxic people in their life. Just because you deal with toxic people doesn’t mean she has to. That’s trauma that can be avoided.

Awww I feel sorry for her 😞 I know she's not biologically his but he still accepted responsibility of her by marrying her mom. I feel like becuz she wasn't biologically his, he didn't try finding her and didn't care enough to keep in contact with her to know her exact whereabouts when she was adopted. At least he apologized tho for it while her mom is still in denial. I wouldn't advise her to keep in communication with her mom when she doesn't want to take any ownership of her wrong doings tho like JM did. Shouldn't let ppl continue to hurt you no matter who they are

This so-called dad is a real piece of work! I’m truly disgusted at his diction. His constant utterance of my daughter vs the defendant is why women should always be extremely discerning in whom we allow to share our DNA with. For all intensive purposes, the defendant probably respects him more than he ever will. From his perspective, she was always a step daughter ☹️☹️☹️

Forgiveness does not require reconciliation...if someone is to toxic to be in ur life...no matter who it is cut them off...ur health ... peace and sanity comes first!....now do forgive them but DNT feel obligated to put up with them PERIOD!!!!..for the judge to tell tht is basically saying put ur sanity at jeopardy just because there a "loved one"

I hate the judges advice to the young woman! How do you tell her to negate her feelings of being abandoned and uncared for to except her mothers decision to remain as she is. Am I saying throw away her mother, absolutely not but I am saying protect your peace!! You can forgive and not force a relationship that causes you more harm than good. Forgiveness is not acceptance of foolishness, it’s freedom from the foolishness that was done to you by that person.

JM can't tell people what to do but I also get what he's saying. In my life I've found that neither being naive nor cutting people out of my life usually works. Some people I just gotta learn the right way to deal with them and make the right space for myself so they don't hurt me again. You could say I should just cut them out, but then I'd have no friends or family. Life isn't always easy or fair, but if you can laugh and stay above the BS you'll be better off regardless of what you choose to do.

A judge cannot preach family separation. As a public figure, he is required to encourage family bonding than otherwise. Disintegrated families breed vagabonds and social vices. When influential people have the opportunity, they preach positive instead of negative.
