It is not always a financial situation. Some just do not want to spend too much for it. Just make it barely work and go. :) I used a home made setup for years. Recently I bought some aftermarket stands and seats and returned because any of them had a deal breaker of some sort. Budget aftermarket solutions are worse than you can built from cheap materials like wood and foam. It must be sturdy enough, in one tied piece seat + stand, and in comfortable sitting position. You have to pay at least 900$ for an acceptable entry level seat + stand.

i have a very stupid reason for even owning a sim racing setup I used to have a supra that i built for track, totally not street legal, but very fun to drive on a race track, a few months ago, I saved up some money and got myself a new track car, but I couldn't just give my old supra to a family member (which is what i normally do with my cars when i get a new one) because, like I said, not street legal, and no one else in my family likes to go racing, so it just sat in my garage for months. Then a few weeks ago, I decided that I wanted to do something with it, so went to it with wrench in hand, took the driver's seat out, slammed it next next to my pc and a week later, racing sim has been set up, and supra's just sat there in the garage with no seats (passenger seat removed for weight reduction) , and yesterday i sold it to a guy who had just moved in (idk why he wanted a car with no seats but to each there own i guess).

5:39 the new logitech wheel shifters dont have buttons because they are now on the steering wheel and the older logitech wheels didnt. So it quite makes sense there

The bungee cords are "meh", in my opinion the better way to do it is get lockable wheels for your chair off amazon, so when you play you can lock the wheels without any BS and you're going nowhere :)

For real life, realistically you need an actual bucket seat that fits your body type. It helps due to the inertia and momentum that tosses your body around while executing a slide, so I believe for the people that bought decent seats had their hearts in the right place and it theoretically helps immersion. Just my opinion

It makes sense to have a nice chair because if you don't have one you're not going to enjoy playing so much. Trust me, I have to study in my bed because the chair I have is from the living room and it's like sitting in a flat piece of wood.

Hi. I use a Camping Table, Camping stool, and to add some more immersion an old Keyboard which works OK. I'm going to invest ( when I'm old enough) probably one of those overpriced Plastic toys G29 or T300 /T150 to add some amazing realism .
