I found myself compelled to tell all the casual non-chess people who were talking about Queen’s gambit last month about Judit. The closest to a real life Beth there’s ever been. And they’re all surprisingly super interested to hear about it. Seems like the show really has people interested in chess.
@justinbieber8028
@justinbieber8028 3 жыл бұрын
Why were you so surprised that they were interested? If someone likes a show about a strong female chess player then it would only make sense that they’d be interested in hearing about a strong female chess player.

The two knights are a favorite when they team up side-by-side to deliver a form of smothered mate. As GM Williams would so accurately call it, "astonishing." Two knight mates side-by-side are always difficult to spot by us mere chess mortals. Thank you for sharing, Mr. Williams. There is an amazing Q sac with the two knight side-by-side mate in Irving Chernev's "A Fireside Book of Chess." A great read with some real "Things that make you go hmm" moments about chess..

All these attacks check out with Stockfish 8 except the last one. There seems to be a clear refutation of this one, although the move seems terribly difficult to find (3. Nb5). Nonetheless, that 4 out of 5 of these attacks are irrefutable is no surprise at all: Judit was a bona fide phenom.

In the first game Judit's brillancy was when she played Re8 she made a trap for Pavlina by giving her a piece and then she smashed her with the queen sac In general playing against Judit is really suicidal 😈😈
