What a voice Judith has. Clear as a bell! Absolutely one of my favorite groups. Their close knit harmonies were something else.

love Athol's flip-up sunglasses...i discovered them about five years ago and never leave the house without my flip-ups. Judith is such a talented, good person...not many like her.

The sophisticated music machine that is Judith Durham is so amazing. She read sheet music, played piano, and sang from a very young age. On her birthdays and at Christmas time, she let it be known she wanted sheet music as gifts. I wish her operatic talents had been recorded more extensively.

@Cecil Treadwell. I get that you probably meant to be positive but it is rather depersonalizing to describe Judith as "The sophisticated music machine..." Like a juke box?or a record player? Pianola?

@@marilynwoolford-chandler1161 LOL ! Have you seen their entire 1968 farewell concert? The one where she is lifeless until a robotic man attaches a giant turn key to her back and cranks it to animate her as if she was a mechanical music box in need of being wound up? She wasn't at all offended by the mechanical analogy.

Cecil Treadwell @Cecil Treadwell. LOL! An excellent point Cecil Treadwell. I have seen that but after the Sweet Adelines and she is "shot" at the end. I could not quite get the connection between the moustaches and the over the top conducting control, to the huge key. All part of the fun...but I hadn't thought of Athol as being a"robotic man". Perhaps I was too affected by John Cleese and Monty Python's Ministry of Silly Walks. But you could easily take it to be a set of wind-up toys also.. Great to get your reply Cecil.

The Seekers are as a magnificent crystal punch bowl that every master caterer (songwriter) seeks to fill with a crowd pleasing punch. The song by Paul Simon "Someday One Day" was indicative of their magnetism as a vessel for prolific song writers to be inspired by.

We used to say "Why should the devil/Devil have all the best tunes?". @Cecil Treadwell. This image/simile is easier for me to accept this still a bit not so sure

200,000 at one event. Amazing. The World Cup Final would be happy with that. Judith went solo. No problem. She did some good work solo or with hubby. Love X

Thanks for sharing this Alistair! It's so delightful to see something for the first time that I have missed along the way somehow! I believe that is Beverly's voice saying that the tree pictured is her favorite tree, so my guess would be that it's Bev's home. Also she said that she had slipped and fallen on the leaves and broke her wrist.

Kaye Davis Correct assumption. This is actually from 1994 as a means of promoting the “Let Me Find Love” album released in April that year. Would have been done at Bev’s home primarily because of Ron Edgeworth’s illness. Also, by the same time in 1995 Judith had her hair cut to around shoulder length, in here it’s still very long.

How similar the spoken voices are... Beverly and Judith sisters. I'd love to see more of Beverly...what songs did Judith's sister sing with Judith or The Seekers?; Can anyone tell me?
@osvaldoschilling91293 жыл бұрын
Hi. Her sister was never interested on becoming a full time singer entretainer in spite of having a very good voice and also being able to play piano. I recommend reading Judith´s biography "Colours of my Life"for details.

Bev does harmonies in a couple of the songs on Judith’s Hold Onto Your Dream album, including in No Mother Could Be Lovelier Than You. But yes their voices do sound so similar!!
