From the comments, it seems people forget fast. This woman knew she was dealing with a minor. The case was all over the news. She had been WARNED that time she was first arrested (she mentioned it too!) but she still went ahead with the minor. The defense in defilement cases is where the accused doesn't know they are dealing with a minor. This case she knew very well after being warned twice!

He had a phone to his name, he was in a bar drinking, he had the freedom take her for a date, he was "grown up, a big fella" the lady should have caused drama in cohrt until even the bar tender and parents are also jailed. Don't go down alone in such a case. Boy child, go visit her in prison.

This is an believe 15 years for defilement. The boy is not in school he is doing business and go to clubs drinking. It's ashame to the judiciary and mostly the judge who jailed this young lady.

As long as the accused is above age and the said victim is underage, defilement will apply. It does not matter whether the underage individual acts/looks/is the size of an adult. Otherwise it could be argued that those who start drinking at 11 or having sex at 14 are also adults because they behave like them. If she was 15 and in jail and the guy was out there it would be a different case altogether. As an adult your reasoning and judgement should/is expected to be higher than of the minor.

I do not think her punishment is proportion to the offense. The young man appears to have been almost grown if he could pass for an adult.

The cases of defilement should be looked into another perspective not only for this case including so many men are trapped by those who are targeting them because of personal issues by use of underage who are almost 18 but have grownup adult physical appearance

Lucy, I was once in jail (actually not more than six months ago) my ex left me bcause my phone would be online at some point. This was in North America and today I am free!
