Drill description: Athletes complete a sequence of exercises focusing on balance. 1st exercise is hopscotch on a thick landing mat that increases instability and challenges athletes’ brain to adapt through biofeedback pathways. Next exercise is a Mae Mawari ukemi on a declined mat that helps athletes to use correct ukemi technique. Drill ends with athletes jumping from one hoop to the other. They have to land on one foot and stay balanced for about one second, then they jump to another hoop and land on the other foot. This exercise focuses on body weight transition and center of gravity management using biofeedback mechanisms as well.
