I honeslty don’t know if using China is the best example. I’ve seen their training in person, the men’s team helps train the women. Even though they train as long and hard as the Japanese and other elite countries/ athletes. (There’s no judo dojo’s in China btw, it’s a national sport and if you haven’t been picked since childhood, you’re not doing it ). They don’t have any top judokas despite the training, says a lot about how they train don’t you agree?

Level in female is better than mal since many years ago but hope soon we can see a strong male team! They have many talent players but need train well and motivated to achieve good results in international level. We are working hard to improve Chinese judo level and some changes are necessary. Thanks for your comment.

For many reasons other countries are much better than China in men's judo !!! But the main reason is that the Chinese do NOT properly support their male selection and if the female team, paradoxical as it sounds hahahaha; they have what they deserve xP !!

Judo in China is super underfunded. Like other combat sports like boxing, it’s seen as vulgar and not something parents would encourage their kids to do. The funding all goes towards sports like badminton, table tennis, and Olympic weightlifting.
