This Sensei came to the club of my country in the 80s, unfortunately was just a kid so I didn’t spar him . Anyway , I had learned the Moro Tomenage from him . It had been one of my favorite throws in my competitions then .

Ronda Rousy's mother was one of the best in ground game. Judo doesn't just have the best stand up game. It also have the best ground game. Unfortunately, the rules in Judo competition is killing this martial art.

Judo does not have the best ground game lmmfao...there's too many banned techniques that judokas don't know how to apply or defend...judo focuses 90 percent on stand up and only 10 percent on newaza. With BJJ its the opposite. BJJ is obviously much more advanced wen it comes to ground game. If what u say is the case more mma fighters would focus on judo for their ground base and not BJJ. Even Sambo has better ground game than judo hahahaha stop ur either being biased or ur just a retard that doesn't know wtf ur talking about bro. Like seriously 🙄. And I don't wanna hear that bs that bjj comes from judo therefore judo ground game is better that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. At one time judo had the best ground work until the kodokan changed to focusing more on standup so that it could make it to the Olympics. Kano felt that if judo was to make it to the Olympics that he had to take out focusing on ground techniques so much and more stand up so that ppl will actually watch it bc too much ground work makes for a boring match lol y do u think they don't have bjj in the Olympics even tho bjj is way more popular? I suggest u do a lil more research. If judo has better ground game then explain to me y so many judokas do bjj on the side to strengthen their ground game lmmfao

I'm a novice, subtitles are needed to get the full knowledge he has to share. A man with his skill deserves to be heard. Watching only gives you half the lesson. With today's technology, should be rather easy to add subtitles.

True. It is instructive in it's own right, but subtitles are needed to get the full learning. Unfortunately, I lack the skill of the Japanese language, or I would have done it myself. On face value, it seems like any hardcore BJJ:er could learn a lot from this video.

Brazilian jujitsu which is really old-school judo with a twist at best. Has really woken up judo to their greatness just imagine where they’d be if they didn’t neuter you though What they did to it in the Olympics

Was this ever put out on DVD? If not, it should, with multiple language subtitles, professionally done. Perhaps even a choice of a narrator who translates the Japanese language. You could probably create a NeWaza syllabus from this, organizing it like the stand up techniques.

R u doing bjj?? This is NOT SIDE CONTROL. IT IS a very clever and powerful choke!!!! It was my favourite ground choke. Albeit less known and hard to pull off in competition. As you turn over the choke start to tighten like a noose before you reach the ground. It is very brutal if done correct.
@Johnworksdaily
@Johnworksdaily Жыл бұрын
Wow! I didn’t see that sneaky choke. Even better. This video is full of gold!
@bobk480
@bobk480 Жыл бұрын
@Johnworksdaily it's the most leverage possible to get on someone's neck. It's a extremely powerful choke my bjj friend. The choke " point" is the back of the hand!!!! Judo is extremely technical. The stuff I learned from my japanese sensei's, makes me cringe when someone says judo ground fight is non existent. There are many I mean many turnovers into chokes in judo.

Why put BJJ in the title of this video? It’s a cheap copy of Judo without the principles and Jigoro Kano’s philosophy.
