This song history is wonderful and fascinating to me. Small personal note from me - I love travelling and exploring cultures that are different from mine - so this is a very interesting conversation. No disrespect at all meant. I looked up the Titik Sandora and Muhsin Alatas song - "Hatimu Hatiku", and I think I can start to understand the confusion. The title of the video for Vanny's version played was "Somewhere Between" which we in America have a song by Merle Haggard, with a lot of the same lyrics, but it has a VERY sad/melancholy meaning with some additional lyrics that make it clear that the "couple" are struggling with each other. From the rough translations I can find for Hatimu Hatiku, it leaves some of those lyrics out, and ends up a wistful but loving song, I think? I would greatly appreciate other feedback on this - because I can't seem to find via the internet what happened... Did Titik Sandora and Muhsin Alatas adapt their version from Merle Haggard's version, or did Merle hear Hatimu Hatiku and adapt it to his song? I don't care about the ownership so to say, but just fascinated by the history. That is one of the things that Judy Adele and I love about this channel is learning things like this as we are introduced to new music! Thank you all! 😊😊
