7:55 - "Mess with the cake and I'll Battenburg him" - Battenburg is a checkerboard patterned cake, made by slicing and rearranging pieces. Ambulances in the UK have a Checkerboard pattern, as well, and so Battenburg is slang for ambulance as well. Bas is saying if he messes with the money/product/ladies he will slice him up and put him in an ambulance. "Kipling" from Pete's verse is also a cake type, and a Jungle Book reference.

It wasn't until rereading my summation until I realized that what Martin Luther and Martin Luther King Jr. each dreamed is relevant to the song. *mindblown* The 95 Theses were an indictment of a Catholic Church Martin Luther saw as corrupt, selling indulgences and putting themselves between the individual and God. He Protested this, nailing his Twitlonger to the door, wanting to take the power out of the hands of the corrupt and put it in the hands of the people. England is a Protestant country, following their own branch in the Anglican Church. MLK Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech and Martin Luther's dream return with "Don't talk about numbers In the UK, you know that they love us Don't care about colours Black or white, we can be brothers" Removing power from the hands of the record labels (the corrupt Church) and putting it back in individual hands, the viewers and listeners.

Knock down ginger, it means knock someone's front door and run off before they answer it. We use to do it all the time as kids. Bas is saying kick off your front door hinges like knock down ginger.. so instead of running off, he's saying he'll kick off your front door

I think there's another element to the bent back fingers: you're trying to hold the door while bas kicks it in, hence your fingers got bent back

@@jdirtyreacts7043 Sorry I didn't explain well, you're totally 100% on the tinder reference, I was just explaining how I think the 'knock-down ginger' bar links in to the tinder bar. As in "I kicked his door so hard that when he tried to stop me his fingers got bent back like I would bend over a girl from tinder" rather than "i kicked his door in, and then I took hold of his hand and bent the fingers back like I bend girls from tinder over"

Great reaction! One correction though, Pete was the gangster and Bas did the bare knuckle boxing. It's part of why Pete has all the tattoos and his ears pierced, but Bas doesn't. Also Bas was/is a music teacher and can play multiple instruments

6:50 "The bouncer came out and he got weighed in..." - Just so you know, to 'weigh someone in' means to beat the ever-loving sh!t out of them. So either the bouncer wasn't cool with it... He tried to step, and got dealt with... Or, the bouncer came out and weighed the young lad in - not too sure I'm hearin that though. Either way, that whole verse is what makes this tune for me. Pete use to roll with my grandads gang. The Richardson's, aka the torture gang. Charlie Richardson. Everyone thinks the Krays were top. They had nothing compared to my grandad.. do some research. It's a good read. Pete use to do work for him, and also the Krays. Bas Dad use to have a ring in his backyard and put on bare Knuckle Boxing fights.
