Wonderful video! I really didn’t have any knowledge about bird’s nest before watching. Now I can’t wait to try it. All of the dishes you tried look so good and the family that hosted you were so kind and warm. I’m beginning to think that we haven’t planned enough time in Ipoh, but I guess we can always return.

Hi Tom! We didn't know much about bird nest either so we got lucky to get a lesson from a family who has been in the business for years and knows the process from start to finish. And on top of that they were so absolutely lovely. You're going to love eating in Ipoh, can't wait to hear your impressions on the town

@@PureDetour c. N.y in a Chinese area like Georgetown will be quiet I think except for temples like kek lok si and small temples which are open for prayers example snake temple, thai wat . This is because Chinese owned businesses will be closed for at least 2 days minimum. They work day and night for a year, so time to rest and be with family. Most importantly enjoying the reunion dinner on the eve. You and your partner must be prepared to eat other food like Indian food or malay food. It is expected that Chinese food stalls will be closed. Luckily we are multi racial. People do not starve to death during each festival. Supermarkets are open of course. However, it will be more quieter than usual. Eat as much food in ipoh now, when you arrive in penang you can at least remember the great time in ipoh. Just mentally be prepared. As it will be quieter than usual in most Chinese populated areas.
