Julian Assange given permission to appeal US extradition | DW News

The High Court in London ruled Monday that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has a right to appeal against his extradition to the United States.
Assange is facing 17 espionage charges and one charge of computer misuse due to his website's publication of a trove of classified US documents almost 15 years ago.

Also, there's a reason why Chinese construction projects usually use Chinese workers and specialists mostly: To make the locals DEPENDENT on China. Do not try to paint them as saints, they are not, they are quite the opposite...

@@michaelrogers9720 ha the US doesn't go there to lecture on lgbtq. It goes there to help fight whatever enemies they share. Like terrorists ect. They also give aid. Free of charge aid. And why would you be against people having a say in government?

The US could not grant Assange First Ammendment rights as a foreign national. That's why he has won the right to appeal extradition to the US. The fact the US could not guarantee him those rights should be telling enough.

This guy needs to go face the music. If he did the crime he should face the penalty of that crime. If he did not, he needs to be held to the principles if justice that america is based on. He should have his day in court. If he did not want to face the court he should not have done what he did when he was warned constantly and fully aware of the likely consequences. He wanted to be brave and now he wants to hide from the consequences. You cant have your cake and eat it too julian. Time to face the music. Go to court and i hope you will win and be released with time served. But you sir are not above the law any more than the politicians you sought to hold accountable. Godspeed

Just look at all the fringe right fascist haters wanting to defund public news broadcasters or attacking journalists including having them on death lists. So often this can be seen here on youtube and other social media plattforms. Therefor i don't think the west collectivly hates journalists, but more often than not this can be found on the (fringe) right spectrum of politics and no US democrats supporting this exctradition are not an argument against mine as they in comparison to europes democracies are themselves rather right wing if you wanna be lenient maybe centrists.

He exposed US warcrimes, and videos of soldiers doing horrible things in Iraq. He should be thanked by the US government and swift action should be taken to punish those in the video. Instead the US wants to put him in prison? How different is that from what Russia does? Same standarts and hypocricy as always
