Julian exists outside of the normal time-space-music continuum, in his own Universe of delight. I always feel humbled and grateful to hear him play, even though I am a base rogue and barely comprehend enough to fully appreciate him.

I don't think I've spent a better six and a half minutes of my life than listening to and watching Julian play Beatrice. Some say the glory of human beings is that, in our minds, the universe became conscious of itself. Nay, my friends, I say the universe finally realized transcendent musical grace and perfection through the form and expression of Julian Lage. That is the ultimate purpose of humanity. Your contrapuntal playing is pretty much unique to you, at least to the degree you use it. Combine that with your masterful use of harmony and jazz ideas, thank you for sharing what I will never experience doing.
