Check out my most recent interview with Julianne Hough & Brooks Laich!
In addition to being neighbors to my Coeur d'Alene estate, this Power Couple makes for a great interview!
Julianne Hough is a triple threat entertainment powerhouse! She is a dancer, singer, and actress. She is a two-time professional champion of ABC's series Dancing with the Stars. Julianne was also nominated for a Creative Arts Primetime Emmy in 2007 for Outstanding Choreography in season five of the show!
With all this success she still manages to give back with her first song, "Will You Dance With Me", which was released to iTunes to raise money for the American Red Cross. The song placed at No. 100 on the Billboard Pop 100 chart! Talk about maxing out!
Joining her today is her husband, former NHL Forward Brooks Laich!
Brooks Laich is a former NHL Professional Forward and was widely known for his term with the Washington Capitals, his traits as a leader and is also known as one of the hardest working players on the Capitals' roster.
He has represented Canada internationally, capturing a silver medal at the 2003 World Junior Championships, and playing for Canada again at the 2010 World Hockey Championships.
In 2013, The couple announced their engagement on August 18, 2015. They've been happily married since July 8, 2017. Since then Brooks and Julianne continue to grow into a stronger married couple as they work countless hours on their relationship.

The second time I've watched this interview, it never gets old, there's so much great information! What Brooks said really stuck, and my fiance and I want to do this going forward "what do we want to do, and who do we need to become to do it?" Drawing out what that looks like really motivates us, and helps us picture where we want to go. Thanks Ed!

I was not aware of you and Julianne until watching the video of the Buttery Bros train with you. Authenticity is a word that gets pinned to the chests of a few too many who just don't quite know what it means; you guys have it by the truckload. What beautiful souls you are : ) From one human being to another - sending all three of you much love.

This interview was SOO good!! Probably the best one yet. Julianne Hough's story definitely resonated and hit close to home. So many of us have gone through struggles with self identity, validation, lack of purpose, growing up feeling the need to constantly prove ourselves, the danger of comparing yourself to others, etc. And the misconstrued idea that if you're not winning, you're losing. So much wisdom and insight in this interview, articulated in such a way that is so relatable!!

Oh please. It’s all noise. Don’t worry about giving “9 yr old me” a ridiculous hug. Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Move on. Stop being obsessed with your “feelings “ and start worrying about others. Self sacrifice for others is a beautiful thing. Try it Narcissist.

Absolutely loved this. Thank you to all. Julianne's testimony has struck a chord with me, especially when she said, "What I thought was my biggest failure was the biggest success in this guy's life." I totally understand that statement. I have had those thoughts many times. But then I receive feedback from clients and colleagues about how I've impacted their lives and that keeps me going. xo

This is incredible. You said through out the video “I’m not sure you guys know how much power you have to impact people with your stories.” You were so right. I found this video during one of my lowest times. Coming out of a toxic relationship, and struggling with feeling accomplished while classes at my university are out for the summer, and during off season for sports, I felt so unmotivated. Watching, I thought “THAT. Is the kind of relationship I want, and I feel more at peace about the end to my relationship. I found new motivation listening to Jules and Brooks. Their mindset and relationship has inspired me to “live life at nothing less than 100.” Thank you for this!

Exactly! 42:10 - I'm there right now! And Jules' coming out story in Women's Health shines so closely to me (you know, you love people and it doesn't matter if they are a man or woman, it's who supports YOU as your 100% self that you're able to give your full self too). And so I've looked on all the stands and can not find the WH Sept Issue with her article in it. However, I"ve been none stop connecting with her mission through Kinrgy, and through Brooks' site (and I randomly saw him through Marz' video a while back first). And you, Mr. Ed Mylett I came across you from Rachel Hollis' interview..and my god you GUYS/ GALS are truly helping people who you'll most likely never get to meet. But my goodness, we look up to you guys and gals, and so thank you! Thank YOU all for being brave enough to go out and put love into the Universe. It truly does match up, connect and reach those who need it most. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU... A true fan of all of your individual etiquette and grace.

Ed, thank you so much for putting out there to Jules and Brooks that what they are talking about is not normal! It’s extraordinary! Most couples, while they love each other very much, have no idea how to communicate with one another. It’s not intentional. Many of us, myself included being that I have one failed marriage under my belt, I’m still learning how to be a better communicator. 💡💡 so, I needed this interview ❤️❤️

I can say, because I've watched a video where she's done this, Julianne does have a gift for that! She showed a girl through dance how to embrace her sensuality because she felt awkward dancing. And it worked! It was nothing provocative & something that a dancer may be able to pick up on easy but it helped this girl open up that feeling of owning herself & she had a different kind of confidence & the transition was very obvious but it wasn't until Julianne stepped in. So this is just confirmation on what she said she wants to do with that. Get it girl! Thank you Ed for having them!

What an AWESOME channel. I just found this channel today and Ed, you are fantastic at interviewing. When Ed speaks about his theory of people having "different eyes" who come from homes of stress and anxiety and he looks at Julianne and says, "you and me have the eyes", instant tears came running down my face. JUST WOW. I completely believe that is true. Unfortunately, most families are dysfunctional at varying degrees and a lot of the "social conditioning" we subject our children to is dysfunctional and conditional NOT unconditional love and presence. This is why SO SO many people have issues with self-worth and why drive and ambition isn't necessarily coming from an organic place. It's coming from a place of lack and feelings of insignificance is what DRIVES a lot of people. If you get love and attention from being "THE BEST" in your family, what message are you sending?" What belief are you instilling? OUR EXCHANGE FOR LOVE IS OUR PRODUCTIVITY". ~Teal Swan Los Angeles is FULL of people like this. We aren't born having self-worth issues. It was never supposed to be that way. This is why so many athletes are depressed after they retire because their worth was tied up in their productivity and external success...NOT GOOD. NOW ALL YOU HAVE IS WHAT YOU WERE. Thanks, Mom and Dad.

What an awesome interview. Wish I would have put forth effort in my life period. They have the utmost respect... communication, positiveness about life...feeding off of one another. I didn't know anything about Brooks...love him. I pray they will continue on this journey together with the love they have this minute...never lost.

Dam!!! Thank you so much. I needed that. Gosh I love Julianne. She's incredible. And just so she knows, your music matters and it's powerful. Her song, Dreaming under the same moon, helped me through a tough few years. So thank you x
