On the contrary, Julie was very good at tap dancing. She had a Variety Television Show called "The Julie Andrews Hour" and it aired for a year (1972-73) on ABC, and she did a tribute show to Fred & Ginger and she was fantastic!! It's posted on KZfaq. She had taken lessons is tap and ballet as a young child, but her singing practice and career were first priority for her Vaudeville mother and step father. So she gave up dancing to focus completely on what became her legendary voice.

Gene would have been an interesting role in Mary Poppins(sp). Not that Dick was bad, he was great. Gene had a special flair though, so it would have been interesting to see it.

Gene Kelly is one of my favorite dancers of all time! So athletic and graceful and he could make it all seem so effortless and easy. I've admired him since I was a little girl, watching a VHS of Singing In The Rain at my grandparent's house. It's a shame there's just no talent like that now... (Savion Glover, of course, is amazing...but no triple threat of acting, singing and dancing)
