In celebration of the 50th Anniversary Edition of "The Sound of Music," which is now available to own with XFINITY On Demand, Dame Julie Andrews sits down with entertainment editor David Onda to talk about sharing the Oscars stage with Lady Gaga and her upcoming 80th birthday.

The amazing thing is she chose to sing in the original key and as a tribute as she felt it would honor Julie better. Of course, it's not quite as good; Gaga is a mezzo-soprano , and Julie was a true soprano. Gaga can't be expected to hit those high notes quite as well. But she did a pretty damn good job and sounded great.

This is such a terrific interview. From as young as I can remember Dame Julie's grace, presence and immaculate voice touched me. She is wonderfully gracious about Lady Gaga's (excellent) performance. She is so relaxed and open here in this interview, all down to the interviewer making her smile and feel at ease and of course among friends who respect talent and good manners. Thank you again for this.

Relaxed, open and even humbled and honored by what Lady Gaga did for her. And she's right - her voice was quite high when he was in the height of her career (before vocal node surgery took that away from her) and not easy to mimic.

Sounds of music is my all time favorite movie. I was really afraid for the performance/tribute of Lady Gaga but when she began to sing... God! I was so impressed and touched. She definitely nailed it

She just feels like family. I grew up watching all her movies. Singing at the top of my lungs to all the songs. Feeling, as a child, as if we were singing together, just us two. She is a large part of my childhood, the most wonderful parts. Her voice is a familar sound. I'll never meet her im sure, but I would love to have tea with her and tell her how much she meant to me as a child and continues to brighten my life....

unbelievable that she is 80! she looks SO phenomenal....ugh, every time I see her, or here her talk, she just absolutely warms my heart. she has to be one of the most generous and humble celebrities out there, and she really does deserve every amount of success that has rightfully come her way. she is the epitome of a class act, and I'm so glad that my Mother Monster was able to make Julie proud with her tribute(: words just can't even express how happy that made me!!

I have always loved this classy lady and she is so gracious when speaking about younger singers who admire her. Obviously she was impressed by Lady Gaga's tribute to her with her rendition of the medley from the Sound of Music despite what Steven Sondheim said.

Julie Andrews is a class act - she is who all actresses should strive to be. Kind, generous, humble, hardworking, talented, gracious. Lady Gaga did a phenomenal job and, while I was blown away by her vocals, it is the respectful way that she did this that impresses me the most.

I honestly believe that Gaga is one of the most humble people in the world. When Ms. Julie Andrews learned that Gaga's gonna sing the original keys and told her that the song is so high. She did not responded "Well yeah, I can do an Eb5". Instead because she wants to give tribute to Ms. Julie Andrews.

Unreal how this wonderful star seems so, just like any of us, not in that industry. What a wonderful and blessed opportunity to have been alive during her career. God bless her and may she live to, as she stated "see my grandchildren grow up and have babies". Her children have been able to experience her as she really is and how wonderful it would be for her to give that same unselfish love, especially in reading them such books as she and her daughter's have authored. God has blessed them all with a wonderful heritage to carry on. Thank you Julie Andrews. You have given us a warm part of yourself in our lives. If all of us could hold our own age as she has so beautifully! 80 Wow!

Julie Andrews is a classy lady and she showed it that night, hugging Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga did an incredible job on that song tribute. I have heard some people say she didn't do as good as Julie. I say, the only opinion Lady Gaga need worry about is Julie Andrews who made the songs famous. And Julie LOVED it, so who cares what anyone else thinks. Great job, both ladies.
