I first saw Mary Poppins at the Disney World campground in '79 at age 11. It was so magical and I was completely taken with her and Julie Andrews. I then bought all her Broadway cast recordings and grabbed every VHS of her movies that I could find. Back in the day when some movies were available only to rent before you could buy, I begged the video store to let me buy their copy of Victor Victoria. They finally relented by marking it as damaged. I got to meet her briefly in '90 at a special screening of M.P. Seeing the movie in the theater with her there was a fangirl moment I will never ever forget. I'm so glad that nearly my whole life I've had the pleasure of being able to witness her amazing talents and wonderful spirit.

I always loved The Sound of Music growing up, but getting to see it on the big screen for the first time earlier this year was just a completely magical experience. It's one of those movies that was just made to be seen on a large screen in a theater full of people. Absolutely stunning cinemetography that I never fully appreciated until I got to see it in a movie theater. All that hard work to get the crew up the mountain really and truly paid off and all these years later, it's still gorgeous.

I don't know the first thing about birds. I didn't know what kind of bird a lark was, but when I heard the lirics "like a lark who is learning to prey", I imagined a big bird of prey. Then I looked it up and found out it was a 19cm songbird. Now, I'm just as puzzled as Julie! ;-)

Judy Garland and Julie Andrews are very similar yet different in away because they both do really well in movies and love singing plus telling stories about their lives. So I'm an actress and i will be going to London sometime in mid May for a one act play I'm doing with Brio integrated theater next year. 😱💘🤯❤🎭🙏😻🤟🤗

You don’t mention anything that Ms. Andrews had her first major success on Broadway in 1956 as Eliza Dolittle in My Fair Lady. She also starred as the title character in Rogers and Hammerstein’s TV version of Cinderella in 1957. Over 100 million people saw that live telecast.

It still saddens me deeply that Julie lost her voice that was HER, by some unforgiveable mishap by the surgeon. I sing songs from musical theatre and movies, and she is one of my mentors (she just doesn't know it!). I have learned a fair bit from her. Her loyal fans will love her to the end, no matter what. She always was, IS, and always will be, one VERY special lady, brimming over with talent for so long. Love you dear Julie.
