You can see why Julie's is universally loved, her warmth and honesty overflows in their chat. She has a genuine love of what she does and acknowledges the value of comedy and the importance of laughter. Dawn is also a fantastic interviewer. Her respect and generosity really opens up the conversation and delivers really something rather special to watch. Couple of my all-time favourite comedy actors having a great time, just great to watch.

She is like a hummingbird: full of energy and all over the place.

I love the way Julie obviously thinks hard about the questions she is asked, so her answers always appear to be genuine. She is one of the best actresses of our time. She should be proud of the pleasure she has given so many people.

It's interesting how she and Victoria Wood balanced each other out but, at the same time, Julie seemed to be the vehicle for the more acerbic aspects of Victoria's personality.

I do not know 100pc on other cultures BUT the female comedians REALLY changed our world in Blighty. Good on them.

Julie she is so lovely a British icon per se.

I've watched a few of these now, and the women usually come across far more serious than their comedy personas (nothing wrong with that), but Julie just oozes comedy perpetually. So funny and warm.

My favourite Walters sketch (of course) is 'Soup', where Julie plays the ageing waitress......each & every time I see that skit, I fold up with laughter....comedic genius :D

I used to live in Ealing in London and got to mix with a lot of actor types. I just remember how "me, me, me" most of them were and how uninterested they were in others.

I love this series, however Dawn needs to stop answering closed questions. "Were you in a gang?", "Were you funny?", all can easily be answered by a yes or no. Fortunately, Julie's energetic and loves telling a story!

04:57 so true. Lost count of how many guys have “warned me” about being funny. Most recently, a property developer told me “you’d be better off sitting pretty than making everyone laugh. It’s a man’s job to be funny” 🤐 ALSO, admittedly, very few women are actually funny according to men. So it seems whenever a woman makes people laugh; some people assume the woman’s on drugs/drunk/“chicken oriental”. Some of us simply get a buzz out of making ourselves and other laugh, lightening the mood, so to speak.
