I've kept my self mediocre because when I was a child I had a abusive dad ... I carried life with a mentality the nail that sticks out gets hammered so I made my self small and scarce and introverted not realizing how toxic this was long term ...so I let people walk all over me thinking if I'm too big of I'm too succesfull I'll just get hurt again ... Wow

Yeah man I can relate. Worked a job that's cause me to step out of that mindset and to a more empowering mindset. I learned so many powerful qualities about myself it scared me how those closest to me would react. That thought alone dimmed my light

Yeah. I have nice guy syndrome and that's due largely to my childhood. One of the first characters that came to mind was Ichigo from Bleach who's mild-mannered on the outside, but has burning passion and rage underneath. The only time my parents would pay attention to me is if I got angry.

Same here, my father used to beat and criticize me, I never feel comfortable voicing my emotions because i feel it doesn't matter. But I'm a people pleaser who fears being seen. When I'm mad I blow out of proportion. My mother was detached so I always felt unworthy.

Julien, even with the media "scandal" I still thought you were a genuine guy with a dark sense of humor. Your latest material has by and far convinced me that you are a man that is attempting to better himself and this video in particular exposes you being vulnerable in a way I don't think I've seen any RSD instructor do. Watching you grow is helping me grow. Keep up the amazing work.

I've always identified with villains and underdogs also. That was a role foisted on me by my mother. I only just realized last week that I am like Mr. Glass in Unbreakable. Chronically ill from birth and getting broken over and over again. Misunderstood. Complex. And likely to end up in an institute if anyone ever got a glimpse of my inner world. Fun and informative video, thanks guys ☝

Hey Julien, Teal, I abolutely loved how you two came alive in this conversation. I related completely to Julien's story. The deepest impact that this video had on me was how I fuck things up, to experience a sense of being seen, acknowledged, cared for, accepted, loved, appreciated. I'm curious about using Ayahuasca, to identify patterns set through childhood trauma, that limit me today.

This is so weird that I started watching this. I've literally just came from writing an amazon review (something I never do) about a film I seen in 1995, I watched it again yesterday, it resonated with me so much that I had to tell people how much I appreciated it So the film is "a little princess" where a girl (who's character "sarah" i adored because she was so resilient, brave, kind, aware, loving, smart and took risks, she also brought people together, she brought instant calm to others and could empathise even at the age of 9. She was taken from her home in India to a boarding school in New York in ww1. I won't ruin the story incase anyone wants to watch it. But I've just done the movie character excersise teal suggested and Sarah would be mine. I loved her because although she was treated awfully, she would of accepted apologies and spread love, she never left her comrades, she was loyal, humble even though from a rich back ground, she was encouraging and took others pain away. Her negatives were - she had no control over her situation, she was niave, she allowed herself to be taunted and bullied by her "mother figure" and bully sister. She felt abandoned by her father, and so hurt by how horrible people can be. At some points she was completely alone. Now this is scarely accurate to me and my life. For once I'm going to show some confidence about myself and say I am Sarah. I am all the things Sarah is, I'm told all the time I have a calming vibe (even though I have adhd haha) I put everyone before me, I am a registered nurse, i take care of my friends, I let people know when I appreciate them, I am generous, open minded, always ready to learn, I know how to get the best version of someone out, I make people laugh. Now my negatives. I have a sociopath mother and a bully sister, two fathers who really wanted nothing to do with me. Parents functioning alcoholics that never wanted me there, I was handed money instead of love and handed to anyone who would take me. I was given type one diabetes Adhd, no thyroid and severe depression from around the age of 3. I have been neglected by my parents, in hospital so many times with diabetes related issues that i was expected to control on my own while they went and drank. My middle sister was always golden child. My mother was a downright bully and my father no better. Years of witnessing them in comas or violence. Mother was obsessed with my weight, I was her dolly to dress up and show off at parties, the next day I didn't exist. I always wondered why everyone loved their parents but I couldn't stand mine. Jump to 2022 - I can no longer work as a nurse as my adhd ocd and depression are so bad. I have ended up completely alone with no one, I am convinced I annoy everyone with my health issues, I never eat - I go days with out eating cause I don't deserve it, and and that I've aged so much if anyone I knew saw me, they'd think I look disgusting. Just the way my mother did. So I avoid everyone because no one would ever want to deal with me and my shit. Every ex I've had has seen me coning a mile off and have been abusive. Teal - I really hope you read this and can give me some advice on how I even begin shadow work. Before anyone gets too concerned, I am seen by mental health professionals to tackle adhd and depression. Wow what a novel! 😅

Great video! Learning about coping mechanisms for socialization was big since I've done that a lot in the past and still have some residual left over now. Also, the whole movie character personification exercise was great. So far, I can think of one character I emulated a decent amount since I thought the lifestyle/behavior was desirable and cool. Definitely will explore more with it

Love that Teal has influenced your work! It actually makes sense with both of your bold/don't give a f persona's, which I always loved ❤ in regards to the shadow/inner work - I always wonder how much of it is even ours or from this lifetime or collective societal work, because it can feel a lot for one person and it doesn't justify someone's short life experience yet deep pain, and meanwhile others are absolute clueless lol

I can relate to the whole idea of wanting to be the bad guy and self sabotaging myself. I hope you know this video helped me tremendously.

you know this is why I like RSD. Like in the intro audio you get from signing up for RSD Tyler talks about cold approach pickup is basically a fast track for self development with the biggest rewards. Just like when Teal talks about using emotion/emotional resistance to identify where the work is and using it as a signal to move toward it, face it, and move through it for growth and the rewards it brings. This hobby/life is just doing that 24/7 then testing it/yourself against what can be the most difficult social interactions and test for the ego - getting sex
