Before I started Esthi school, I was always curious as to what actually came inside of the student kits. I was non-stop watching KZfaq videos about this so I wanted to provide an in-depth video for any of you who have a little obsession with these kits like I do! This includes both the skincare and makeup kits that my school provides. I hope you all enjoy :)

To anyone studying and preparing to be an esthetician the best thing you can do is study and learn about active ingredients, once you do that is much easier to pick a product to use on your client and allows you to do a much more personalized treatment because each skin is different, there are different types ofc but also different states, which definitely learn to understand and identify each so you know what to use on them! It's a beautiful career but also comes with a lot of responsability (especially the facials part)

omg the lip pallete reminds me of the makeup kits i would get as a little girl like from a kids store lmfao😂 they did u so dirty ugh, on the brightside the skin care products look really luxurious 😍

It was definitely disappointing, but at least I don’t have to use it if I don’t want to in school! Hopefully you were able to upgrade your kit as well :)

Oh my gosh that makeup kit is just wow 😂 your skincare kit is bomb! I wish they gave you the dynamic recovery spf instead though. That is my holy grail moisturizer/spf that is stocked in my makeup kit for clients. Fantastic base for skin prep before makeup! And don’t be scared of the MVP exfoliant! It’s an awesome back bar product for sure 😊

I know right?! I wish schools took makeup as seriously as they took skincare so everyone wouldn't think being a makeup artist is a joke. Yes! The Dynamic Skin recovery is so good and yes I will try out the exfoliant and see how it works :)

I am about to graduate my esthetician program in a few weeks...like you I have been a working MUA for several years. Same makeup kit...Crown that cream foundation palette is waxy garbage! Lol. Cannot wait to throw it away lol. Wish they would've sprung for Graftobian!!😂 You are doing so great,love your work and videos ❤

I actually had it on during the video haha my camera though is a super high quality camera though so it blurred the imperfections out but it was SO hard to work with!

My Esthetician makeup kit was pitiful too. At least you got crown makeup, we had something that must have come from Claire's. Lol! Crown brushes are actually very good.

Same at my school we got amazing Skincare products and the make-up was sooo bad! Weird foundation colors, lipsticks with fuss on but the brushes where top notch. I still use them in my kit! 😁

I’m sorry that you had the same experience! It’s so frustrating that schools don’t hold makeup to the same standard as skincare!

I did makeup school here in Australia, we used crown as well and it is HORRIBLE, straight up dirt, as soon as the course ended it all got put in a draw that i haven't touched since. It's a professional brand (which somehow makes it 10x worse) and they make brushes for other brands like morphe and all that, etc. All the girls in my class hated using the makeup, I kept the brushes because they were on the cheaper end and I bought them in bulk, the director of the Australian branch came into our class one day and one of the ladies straight up told him that the makeup (concealers especially) was shit and horrible quality, which it was, the concealers were horrible to blend into the skin, were cakey and you could barely warm them up to make it easier either, so I used to mix them with the foundations. We also got 4 shades of their liquid foundations, the lightest one was too dark for me, so i had to buy the lightest one, which was still too dark, and the darkest one we got was straight up orange.

When I went to Aveda years ago the kit was amazing but we didn’t have makeup in our kit. We also had a few brushes to do a makeup look.

It’s so sad how schools really don’t prioritize makeup like they do skincare. It’s honestly setting up newer Esthetician for failure in the makeup sector.

In response to the Crown Beauty stuff, i have used a few and 100% agree with you about the cheap packaging. The products that I've used and liked have been the cream blush palette and the powder eyebrow palette. Only downside with the powder eyebrow palette is, again, the packaging. I decides i wanted to depot it into something more compact, and 3 of the 4 pans shattered. It also came with this weird wax that did nothing for the brows, IMO. I still like the cream blushes, but ive steered away feom a lot of the other products as ive found other stuff that i like better. I also brought some Crown makeup brushes which i do really like. I think this might be where they are a bit stronger. Id stay away from complexion products. Eyeshadows are pretty decent, for the price point. Its a weird brand, I'll admit.

Had the same exact esthi kit in PA. Hated the crown make up. Most of us refused to use it. And unfortunately our kit only had two foundations , Jasper Cullen Pale and Butterfinger brown.

Omg only 2 foundations?! Wow I’m so sorry! I just thought Crown was an Indiana thing haha. It’s sad that a lot of beauty schools don’t take makeup seriously.

@@julieruby they really don’t. You either come in with the know how or nothing. The entire time I was the only one who had a make up client and it was because I was the only one in class who had any knowledge base. It also wasn’t my teachers strong suit. She did her demo on me (which I think was a choice that backfired on her). She had me looking casket ready. 😂

Again, super informative. I just completed my Esthetician course and got my license. We didn't even get a makeup kit at all.

Wow !!! I will be so dissapointed with this makeup kit. It reminds me of a kit for kid that my dad proudly offer me whe I was a teenager... The brushes tho reminds me of Mac brushes. They look nice

@@julieruby exactly! Even my mom (who doesn't wear makeup) said "Damn, that makeup is lousy!" She says HI :) We've been watching makeup tutorials and reviews on YT, since 2021. She likes you, Risa does makeup, Painted with Spencer, and Manny MUA :) I received my Stanley cup, I tagged you on my IG. I searched for accessories on Amazon, there are so many. I like the silicone snack bowl LOL

In Indiana, we have to have a Comso/Esthi license to be a makeup artist. I previously worked for MAC for 3 years and have been freelancing for going on 6 years now. I also took an online class during 2020 through The Online Makeup Academy for my certification.

When you finish estethician school, you automatically are a certified makeup artist?

I technically already am certified, but I will have my Esthetician’s license so I can legally practice it (I was technically operating illegally before without knowing). This varies by state though!
