Meade was a lot like General George Thomas in that they both didn't write memoirs and had didn't want praise. Thomas even went so far as to have his papers destroyed upon his death.

GOOD GOD Bill Hewitt.! (You don't have to pack EVERYTHING you know about the Civil War into a single Gettysburg TOUR!) I felt sorry for the tour group just trying to get a drink out of a fire hydrant.

I would rather listen to his lectures rather than someone who is a Lee sychophant who stays off topic trying to get laughs from the crowd.
