I appreciate your speaking about donating towards a family in Gaza and I agree with finding a person to donate to instead of an organization. I also think it's SO Canadian to have a Cannabis category in your budget LOL i love it

I just came across your channel yesterday and loved your personal finance tips, and so this is the second or third video I’ve watched only to hear you say you’ve donated for Gaza and that just made me so happy and grateful as half Palestinian. Lastly, I had to pause and return to your video because I felt moved to find an organization to support the Palestinian people. My heart goes out the individuals suffering. Considered getting a joint checking account for joint expenses like household bills, eating out, etc?? (re: the part of the video where you said you pay more for groceries/protein powder, and he pays more for eating out/cable tv bill etc).

@@richard99cookify yes that’s a great idea! We’ve discussed it for months and just haven’t set anything up yet. But I think that’s likely what we will start doing

This is a very good question! and something I've been thinking about. My plan so far is to try to keep my expenses where they usually are, and knowing me ill probably overspend 😅 All jokes aside, I wanted to divide my income on a percentage basis. so I want to keep savings and investment rate over 30% and then a portion will be for taxes, and then whatever's left is free for spending!

Love your monthly resets! Baby Oscar is so precious. 🥹💕 I really appreciated your comments on having high spend months here and there. We have a couple of home repair/upgrades coming up, and it can be hard to mentally accept those bills, haha! But I try to remind myself that as long as we're meeting our saving and investing goals, the rest of our money is meant to be spent and enjoyed. 😊 Have a great week, Gabby! 💕

Why do you have a monthly checking account fee?!!! That’s criminal lol. What amenities do you get for $2200 rent…electric, gym, pool, coworking space??

@@elizabeththompson1525 that’s a great question!! Most major Canadian banks charge a monthly chequing fee. The newer tech banks don’t so I’ve thought about switching so I don’t have to pay, but I’ll need to update so many bills and ive been avoiding it 😂 We have a gym, art studio, shared outdoor space and garden, parking, and storage as well! It’s a pretty good deal for Vancouver.

@@GabbyPeterson17 it’s not like that in the states as long as you maintain a minimum balance (as low as $500 in many cases) or have regularly scheduled direct deposits!! Wow! $2200 is cheap for all that’s included!! I love all upper financial vlogs and your travel ones too!! Thankyou and I’m glad you’re finally getting monetized!!
