Hey Jeff thanks for commenting. All of these colonies are alive as we speak and we’re into winter here in michigan. The one colony from these where the queen wasn’t laying (spoken of at the beginning of this video) was combined with another colony i had. The queen never started laying. She was big and plump but i found her with an egg stuck half way out of her bottom. I considered her to have a defect and dispatched her. Had it been june or may, i might have pulled it out and seen how things went. In this situation we were missing out on key buildup time. Regarding the robbing screens, i don’t think its ever a bad idea. However, i never saw any significant robbing. Nothing that would cause a colony to be decimated. With reduced entrances, they were all able to defend pretty well. Thanks again my friend!
