Based on the blockbuster feature film, this exciting animated series continues the amazing saga of two children, Judy Shepherd (Debi Derryberry) and her younger brother Peter (Ashley Johnson), who discover a mysterious and magical board game called Jumanji. Once they start playing, their lives will never be the same. Sucked into a swirling vortex and emerging in the parallel jungle universe of Jumanji, they meet Alan (Bill Fagerbakke), a fellow traveler who has been trapped in the game for over 20 years. Navigating two worlds - their hometown "real" world and the disturbing fantasy jungle of the board game - as they try to help Alan break the spell, Judy, Peter and Alan encounter thrills and adventures that also help them learn important lessons about life.

It's good that Shout Factory , Cookie Jar, Mill Creek Entertainment, Viz Media, Funimation and other DVD comapany made a lot of Cartoons/Anime series from the 80's, 90's, 2000 and beyond in complete DVD collections over the years like Transformers, Power Rangers, Super Mario Bros, Miraculous Ladybuy and other animated series. But I still wished they have done something interesting for a changed like released some past Cartoons/ Anime shown in UK/USA/ Australia from the 90's, 2000 and beyond like: Cartoons: Blazin Dragons, Space cats, Starla and the Jewel Riders, The Addams Family, Creepy Crawlers,Mighty Ducks, Mary Kate and Ashley in Action, Biker Mice from Mars 1993 and Gormiti Nature Unleashed. Anime: Cardcaptors, Spider Riders, Yo Kai Watch and Ultimate Muscles. It may sound a lot to wished for but if you have some favourites Cartoons/Anime memories from your childhood like me then you would understand from what I'm coming from even though it's unsudden if it even going to happen in the future. I know a few of them were released into DVD in the past but none of them were in complete DVD collections like Transformers and Pokemon. I think it's about time that Shout Factory and other DVD comapany should think of making them into DVD because that could make them successful but maybe not on Blu Ray as none of us (myself) don't have a Blu Ray DVD Player.

Jumanji is out on a Complete series Release in a 3 Disc DVD Set. Featuring All 3 Seasons with 40 Episodes. “The 1st release Season 1 wasn’t enough. It had 13 Episodes with Alan still trapped in the Jungle World.”

I never watched the new Jumanji movies, but from the pictures I've seen, it looks like they are in a generic jungle. I always pictured the Jumanji world to look more like this, a surreal, almost prehistoric jungle with strange looking trees and wouldn't resemble anything on Earth. It looks like the new movies is just The Rock running around in Hawaii or Taiwan or something.

I don’t think Jumanji is entirely African. When I first saw the original, I thought it was. But since this has a tiger and piranhas, the sequels have jaguars and orangutans, the original has fantasy-based creatures, and the board game I own also has piranhas, I don’t think Jumanji is supposed to take place in a specific jungle. It’s just a fantasy jungle.

@@mountkilimanjaro2982 you are right. Based on Africa (where else is an English hunter with a Dutch name?). But there are elements of other jungles. This magic game just calls up all the dark fears of your subconscious, and gives them a ‘jungle’ setting. There are bright spots too, of course. But you get other continents animals, teeth in rhinos, etc. In the original, I think van Pelt was invented specially for Alan’s fear of his father ( “Face me, boy! Become a man!” and so on.). Note that Mr. Parrish and Van Pelt are played by the same actor. But van Pelt was so popular, they just put him in the cartoon as a generic jungle villian. Cartoon’s a little different. You just get sucked into the world, with a clue to get out - if you can. The board not much use. Maybe there is a variant option, and they chose it, and don’t know it. Great idea for the next movie. They find the switch, or whatever, choose the other option halfway thru, then instead of getting sucked into the world of the game, the game invades your world.

When you really think about it the present day Jumanji movies featuring the Rock are more of a sequel to this series than the original movie. Think about it there are more characters in the Jumanji world besides Vanbelt the Hunter and EVERYONE gets sucked in the game immediately when they start playing

Unfortunately, Not a Complete Series. The One you have has only 13 Episodes. There are still 27 more Episodes of Jumanji yet to be on DVD. Especially the Final episode Good Bye Jumanji. Someday, Jumanji The Animated Series will be in a Complete DVD Set with all 40 Episodes. Just like GODZILLA The Animated Series is now in a Complete DVD Set today with all 40 Episodes.

Finally JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES The Last Animated Action Show Developed by Richard Raynis & Jeff Kline. "Richard Raynis did season 1 & Jeff Kline did all 5 seasons." JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES Has yet to be released in a Complete 5 Season DVD Pack Set Featuring All 95 Episodes. In Addition to those, another but different Animated Action Show that also yet to be released on Complete DVD Set too. "Including 1 Anime Action Show." #1 This one's almost like Richard Raynis & Jeff Kline creation, "Almost" But it's different & was seen on TV by The CW & 4Kids Entertainment. It's called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003 TV series) Seasons 1-7 Featuring 157 Episodes & The other show is the Anime one called Dinosaur King Seasons 1&2 Featuring 89 Episodes. We'll see What happens. So far I've got GODZILLA: THE ANIMATED SERIES & ASTRO BOY (2003 Version) in my DVD Collection. the other 4 Animated Action Shows by Richard Raynis & Jeff Kline better come to Complete DVD Sets soon. Including the 2003 TMNT & that 1 Anime Dinosaur show. Oh & speaking of "Faith". If it's alright There's Something I'd like to explain that's been bothering me the most.
