because you haven't worked for a good company, or you're having a normal position that no bosses give a shit and easy to have someone else to replace you, or they don't think you're good enough and its wasting their time motivating you positively. Good bosses always know how to lead yougo the way they want without your notice

this guy obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. Skinner (1941) wrote "these things which are held to be motivators, i.e. recognition, advancement, doing a 'good job', are merely accidents of nature that are assumed to correlate with behavior. In truth, people are like rats running in a cage with no more motivation than to find the best food to eat."
