VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
In this video we traveled by sleeper bus from Jodhpur into the Thar desert also known as the Great Indian Desert. First we had to go to Jaiselmer and then from there we got a packed local bus to a small place called Khuri Village. Definitely one of the most authentic travel days we have ever experienced!

Whoa whoa whoa!!! That is amazingly crazy travel experience!! You have gone to place where even Indian tourists don't go and probably have never seen (because it's just village side not architecture). And you chose a mode of transport which Tourists never choose. Anyway, Its good to see tourists who are willing the explore deeper areas, ways of living, culture habits and put themselves through testing places. Happy traveling!!

One tip. Please end your meals/day with a glass of fresh buttermilk or Yogurt/Curd . They are full of prebiotics and will help you avoid Delhi belly and stomach ailments 🙂 Also, we Indians have 'Ghee' in our food, which is why we don't get our stomach upset. Ghee is also filled with probiotics ( coats a inner lining from throat to our stomach). If you cannot have curd or buttermilk, ensure you have one fresh lassi. This will ensure that you don't fall sick and don't face any issues while eating any type of vegetarian food in India 🙂
@JumpingPlaces

Lassi or Dahi/curd have totally different properties compared to buttermilk, as per Ayurveda. Curd increases cough but gives strength while buttermilk aids digestion and thus improves longevity.

Amazing as always! The village and the villagers were so excited and happy to see you both. I love how excited the children were as well as being a little shy at the same moment. Can't wait for the desert video you to. Oh and as for the cost of the bus I went to a few other vloggers I watch, I saw fares from $7.94 for 6 hours but it was night. Must be a different day far. Great video. I watch almost all of your travel videos. You two make better videos than any travel channel or travel resource. I'm glad on this one you decided to cover your bus travels also. It is very interesting to see that part of your adventure. Inclusions of that sort make us viewers feel as though we are travelling with you. It is a more complete picture of your's and Carrol's travel. I am so impressed with your two's decision to stay in what she referred to as "raw" accommodations. After all, when you are in the "middle of nowhere" you will not find any 5-star resorts, eh? That type of stay may not be the vacation choice of many, but it definitely peaked my interest. I am one who would also enjoy learning about very differing cultures and immersing myself into their world, as you two did. Travel does not have to always be about visiting the most beautiful and exotic beaches, coastlines, mountains, etc. Sometimes it is so refreshing and vibrant to learn about places, such as you visited in India, that one might not consider a top vacation spot like you find in major travel brochures. Keep up the great work and happy travels.

@@bajan256 So very true. If you grow up with, and all you know is clay and cow shit, then you would be very content and satisfied with those conditions. That is most likely why they live such happy lives. They, unlike many Americans, are not always wanting the newest Iphone or OLED 4K TV, etc. The more we have the more we want. 6:55 you probably figured this out by now but with spicy food especially in India, you can ask for raita which is a yogurt side that kicks down the spiciness level a few notches. Can also get something like lassi a yogurt drink often mango that is tasty and has the same effect. Drinking water (and probably even cola) actually exacerbates the spiciness. More rice can tame too

Excellent video!!! Loved that you filmed the bus and part of the trip getting there, never seen a bus quite like that, sleeping quarters on the top and sitting on the bottom. What an awesome but at the same time rustic village, a little sad to the children are so poor that they play with wooden homemade cars. when you compare them to the children in a developed countries. You guys are brave people, you're in the middle of no where without the knowledge of the language, thank God you slept on the roof, when I saw that hut, I immediately thought of a cobras hiding in the twigs of the roof. :)
@JumpingPlaces

Yeah the hut was quite a bit warmer also so outside was better, we both have never really experienced a village quite so simple for sure. In general everyone seemed happy and they all seemed to be getting by ok but as an outsider it is definitely kind of sad that they have to ask for pens to play with e.t.c things that are so basic and simple for us to have as outsiders

If u and Carolina did in fact sleep on the roof that’s a quintessential Indian thing to do - my friend from Delhi said she and her siblings and cousins would all sleep up there cuz it was cooler. Yes, good u included the travel part in your travel video - seems natural to do. On the second bus u two couldn’t get seats together? Well, it made for a great visual sitting & mini-waving from ‘back there’ in the bus. Pushkar is camel central when they have their big camel market. Like other watchers have commented, Carol is a really good sport for roughing it with you. And the food always looks good - my wife and I love Indian food. 😋

Hi, your travel videos are great (came across you first when searching for Gili Island / Lombok Travel vlogs), but this one especially stands out since you are also taking your journey from A to B into account. May I suggest, try "Namashkar" instead of "Hello", you will notice the difference immediatly, "Namaste" is for beginners, "Namashkar" for more advanced India travellers. (And for sure try to learn the very basics like "How are you", "Are you crazy?" (the definition of crazy is different in India in nuances than in the Western Hemisphere): "Kia hal he?" "Pagel he?"...
