Meeting Notes:

1. There will be a meeting on June 29 at 10:30 am (please confirm this time, Ran) with a presentation on ‘Land Use 101’. This will be a very helpful orientation for our efforts to complete the Community Plan and will also serve as a preamble to the 7/9 meeting on SB 406 and the 7/23 meeting on Neskowin Development Standards.
2. The meeting date for discussion of SB 406 was confirmed. It is 7/9/24 from 6pm to 8:30 pm and is ZOOM ONLY. There will be a 90 minute presentation on SB 406, which is the Tillamook County specific legislation to expand affordable housing. We agreed it would be best to hold questions until the end of the meeting after the presentation and to start early. People are welcome to eat dinner while listening to the presentation.
3. We then discussed the reasoning for the County not being able to accept individual item removals from ordinances, as asked in the document with the heading “Recommendations from 2001 Community Plan”. This document was drafted by Guy and Lynne. Sarah responded to this inquiry on 4/16/24, copying Guy but not Lynne. Lynne will review the email after the meeting, talk to Guy and we will discuss any outstanding issues on this topic at our July 1 meeting.
4. Laurie raised the issue of messaging consistently with the community if we are creating a New Plan, when we said we are creating an Updated Plan. It was agreed we are creating a new, clearer Document but not a New Plan. We are grateful to Laurie and Tom for helping us stay on track.
5. We discussed the meeting on July 23 at 6 pm, which will cover the Neskowin Development Standards. This meeting will hopefully be a LIVE meeting to allow for visuals. This will be an important meeting for people interested in these standards, particularly with regard to the implementation of SB 406.
6. We confirmed Community Plan Committee meetings for July 1 at 2pm and for July 15 at 2pm.
