Hello people!
Here, I offer a beginner explanation of the innocent archetype, based on the work of Carol S. Pearson and Carl Jung.
The innocent has faith, is optimistic, wants to do good and wants to be loved. The Innocent is also naive and likes to ignore what's bad or wrong.
How important is this archetype in your life? Are you the embodiement of it? Or do you repress it?
If you want to know more about this archetype, watch this!
Also, this archetype is the first one in the archetypal journey, which I explain in this video:
• The Journey of Jung's ...
Awakening the Heroes Within by Carol S. Pearson amzn.to/34z90og
Hope you enjoy!

I think I'm stuck in innocence. With it so prominent, it's easy to bring joy to others, reminding them of their long lost inner child. Even if some people don't appreciate it so much. Also, it is what really protects me from all the horrors of the world, when I can't really count on anything else. I am also a protector (hero) of my family (parents and brother). Someone asked me once.. who protects the protector? And I thought, I don't need protection anymore. I've already experienced enough of what can go wrong in life. Anything else that comes, I can surely handle. I hope. But you never know.

when I was younger, I was closer to a Hero, and then an Explorer. now near the 30's I feel that I left my life behind and I try to live life the best I can. it doesn't means doing crazy things. just staying at home seeing videos, trying to be kind .. brands move to an Innocent archetype to try to clean their tarnished image. maybe I too. I'm not a criminal. but I did not lived my life, it was all about money and ambition. and now I just try to make things simpler and pay more attention to my own happiness. this archetype makes me feel authentic. trustworthy. creative, and best at all. happy and grateful. it feels like a second chance to be happy for me

this could get long....I just graduated high school, and I get called “innocent” a lot....most people can’t believe I’m not a 13/14/15 year old, and they usually say it’s because I’m “childish/innocent.” However, a lot of the people who tell me that say it when they find out I haven’t smoked/vaped/been drinking/doing drugs like most teens have done by my age. But, I sort of think I’m the opposite. I haven’t done any of those things BECAUSE I know it wouldn’t be good for myself and I’m choosing not to. I feel like a truly innocent person doesn’t do wrong things because they don’t know what those things ARE and has actually never heard of them before. Or worse, they could be talked INTO doing something dangerous/wrong by someone else, because they don’t understand that what they’re being talked into doing is bad in the first place. Just wanted your opinion. Edit: shortened it and changed some words around to make it easier to understand

Penelope Lola thanks:) I know it’s just a comment but you actually made me feel a lot better about myself when it comes to this type of thing. I still wish other ppl could tell the difference between the two examples I gave tho.

You weren't specifically addressing me so I hope you don't mind if I comment on this too. I'm sorry you've gotten any flak from people because you've stayed away from some bad choices. Knowing how destructive something is and choosing to do it anyway is one of the most infantile things a person can do. If you're getting mocked for something like that it's because the people mocking you KNOW they're acting stupider than even most children do. As an "adult", it's very difficult to admit that ANY of your actions are less mature than that of an eight year-old. Even kindergarteners know not to stay in a room filled with poison gas, yet smokers do this all the time. Sadly, there's a lot of opportunity for this kind of regression as people get older. You should be proud you're resisting it. :)

I got the innocent one a couple of archetype quizes which is crazy suprising. I have a record, I've been very promiscuous in my younger days, I am chronically depressed, I am morally questionable.... on top of everything I've always been told I'm a cynical. What gives?
