Hey there! I followed the normal route as best as I could and it bypassed the crevasses fairly well. It’s been three years so I don’t remember all that much but only issue I had was fairly steep ice/snow climb up the Rottalsattel and then fairly steep ridge up to the top of Jungfrau. I had no rope but I had two iceaxes and it helped a lot. I descended the same way. I didnt start from hut but from the first Jungfraujoch train so the snow was quite soft and terrible… but somehow I made it… I have found my old gps record on strava, dunno if it helps strava.app.link/mxbfLXzwSJb Good luck out there!

Middle of July 2021. Mönch is very close to Jungfraujoch so it's doable in few hours. It had barely any ice then... snow was very soft though since I started very late (almost 10-ish) but as I said, it's not a long climb so it was no big deal. Mostly. The ridge is razor sharp, so it gets quite sketchy on top with snow being so soft. Some snow cornices were pretty scary. It was also super windy that day and two guided groups gave up the climb before reaching the top, so be careful. Honestly though the toughest part for me was the initial rock passage between the glacier and mountain itself. It's short and straightforward rock but it had some UIAA II moves which I wasn't really comfortable with... having no rope and being too lazy to remove my crampons, but it shouldn't be any problem for you. Jungfrau is much MUCH harder in terms of snow/ice climbing. It still isn't as bad as most of the other 4000s in Alps, but Mönch can't really compare.

@@cedr thank for the response.. I really appreciate it. My brother is pretty set on climbing it next year so I am trying to gain as much info as I can. I live here in Switzerland so it is something I have really wanted to do as well. We will be roped and since he would plan to be here in summer I guess it would be best to be up as early as possible in the hope of harder snow. Thanks again! Really nice video
