I just made a comment about this song last week. I’ve been listening to JBS non stop over the past week. I am 46 yr old white guy. Back in the late 80s and throughout the 90s I loved hip hop. I would cop or dub any tape I could. I had one JB album but for some reason didn’t listen to much. Not sure what albums I was killing at the time-I think it was Brand Nubian and KSolo in late 90/early 91,. This is an incredible track, Chris Lighty looked so happy. RIP
@alejandro61913 жыл бұрын
what most ingorant people dont know is that these guys along with many other early 90s hip hop artists put great rational thought into each and every lyric/verse that they spit. All they spoke was knawledge, not nonsense filled rhymes thats todays so called "rap music."

Bom dia Rodrygo Vood! What Fela Kuti did they use? It does sound similar to Fela's sound with the horns. But I do know the main loop is "Mango Meat" from MANDRILL off the JUST OUTSIDE OF TOWN album. They mixed in cuts "The Message" from GRANDMASTER FLASH & FURIOUS FIVE "Wela" from OLAJUNTI (will recheck on this).
