[Houdini Tutorial] 0036 Thermoforming (Slow version)

In this video I'm showing how you can create a thermoforming simulation using Houdini. The algorithm used in this simulation is created myself so it's really not based on physical property but more visually biased.

Really cool man. I'm impressed with the fidelity of the final result! I subscribe to your videos because of these off the wall applications of Houdini and VEX. While I may not ever be tasked with this kind of effect at work, I watch because you always show valuable techniques that could be applied to countless other fx.

Actually, Junichiro's one of the best talent is knowing where to find the good reference, like the chladni pattern previously and this one.

I know a popular effect you could make a video on. I know it's TYPE has been done to death, but I think you can do it and get a bunch of hits. The sand effect of the people melting away in the avengers movie

your speaking pattern is super hard to follow because you speak with long pauses between non sentences. not sure why. so listening at a faster speed to try to mitigate the slowness of how you talk isn't even helping like i thought it would. have tried watching things you share because they look doable and cool, but time and time again can't get past the delivery. sorry, but maybe a room for improvement.

That's too bad, you could learn a lot from this guy. It's pretty clear english is not his first language. Besides, for most of this stuff what you really need to follow are his actions on screen. I'd imagine these videos are a boon for most people. He's going out of his way to deliver content for an english audience and this is the sort of encouragement he gets :S.
